BUT in the "olden days' they didn't exist, and the E30 M3 won prizes without them . Also there is no need to spends £'s on them - Tesco do a "Everyday Value" pack which are fine. Name isn't everything :wink:

Quite right and my dad has used Chamois' to dry his car, and sponges / brushes to clean his paintwork for decades and none of his car have ever fallen apart. It just depends on the level of "obsession" you place on keeping swirl free paintwork.
Personally, I believe that if for the sake of a few quid I can keep my paintwork in better condition then why not. My paintwork certainly looks better than any E30 M3 I've ever seen.
I have a large cheapo CYC MF towel, and a smaller, pricier one.. both are great - you can tell the difference over non MF and leathers etc.
I have to say for drying i prefer the cheaper larger one, soaks up much nicer - i think the pile is too thick on the posher one to be effective with water duties, better for buffing.

And has anyone ever snagged their brand new towel on the sill strips / badges? Ham fisted but still really annoying.

I have to admit I was always a user of a well-worn AG Synthetic but have completely moved over to MF towel drying these days.

This one is even better. I also use the Blue one for the Door/Boot shuts etc and separate ones for the Wheels.
Small price to pay for premium towels from CYC. I've been using them for a while now and the service and delivery times are excellent.
You can definitely tell the difference between supermarket and CYC etc towels of all descriptions.
