I get it serviced at BMW, I literally have no idea!

It’s the black cap on top of the cam cover.

My colleague had the earlier Z4. It ran out of washer water. I said to her let's fill it up.
She said how, as she never filled it before, relied on annual service to top it up.
We had to search for the bonnet release.

There is an oil reservoir on the driver side at the front of the engine.

If you remove the cap whilst engine is cold,
(Don’t do it after a drive!)


There is a float, which acts similar to a dipstick.

The instructions are moulded into the plastic.

I was so taken aback I had to go and look at mine.
That is the cooling system expansion tank surely?
Don't go topping up your oil in there!

Apparently the mods wanted to put it in the 'delete' file but it ended up in 'favourites' by mistake.

You get plenty of mayonnaise, although you can use most of it up on your salad as it’s the middle of summer

I do keep an emergency salad in the boot, you never know.

So maybe if you have to top up the oil you should start with 'lettuce pray'.
