Door cable driver side replacement

Hi, my door cable has stretched and I need to replace it for its retest mot next friday, I know its probably been asked on here I wasn't able to locate it in the section.

What is the process please as it states you must disconnect the battery due to the airbag can someone run me through this please I've done one on my series 1 but not had to disconnect the battery etc.

The door airbag is mounted on top of the weatherproof membrane, so needs to be unbolted if you want to completely remove the membrane for easier access. You could just leave it connected but tbh it is so easy to disconnect the battery you may as well. Just make sure the window is fully up first.
Or you could pop the door card off for a look and see if you can get away with easing the membrane away from that area. If you tear it though you'll need to replace it or you'll end up with soggy carpets and drowned airbag modules.
