Where does the inside door cable connect to Door/door card ?

My car was getting some paint work and on retuning to me the door card speakers were not working so I removed the door card and discovered wiring not connected correctly.

The inside door handle is connected up but is now loose and when inside the door handle does not function to open the door.

The door opens from outside ok and locks and unlocks , windows function.

I just can’t figure out how this door handle should be connected but all looks ok just no pull to open door ?

I can’t find anything specifically on this on forum or your tube , any help ?

You mean the cable from the inner pull handle to the lock?
It has to connec t to both ends, obviously! But the lock end hooks over the pull lever on the lock and then the lug about 2 inches down the cable slots into a holder so that ther outer caslbe stays still and the inner moves inside it.
If that isn't hooked in then the whole cable just flops about.

Yeah exactly the cable for inner pull handle to the lock.

The white plastic clip at the inner door handle is connected as is the other end on door, but it must be connected wrongly as there’s no pull on the inner handle and I can’t figure out where I’m going wrong with it ie connecting each end

So both ends are connected, but when you pull it you're moving the whole cable. The outer needs to be held still so the inner moves within it.
Look at the end that connects to the lock at the rear of the door. Directly below the hook on the lock is a lug that the outer casing of the cable hooks into. so when you pull the handle, that holds the outer sheath still, and the metal cable inside pulls the lock lever down.

Well the inner door handle is loose even though both ends are connected

If it’s connected with the door handle ‘closed’ it doesn’t work

The door handle needs to be ‘open’ when inserting it to work

Or it could be the other way round I forget

But whatever it currently is- change it

Ok sounds plausible , I just inserted the white clip on other side of door handle but never tried or don’t think I tried door handle open but will try that tomorrow , thanks . It’s got to be something simple but I was trying for long time and was working prior to removing the door card

Thanks , got there in the end I think was combination of a 4 hr car cleaning then starting on door card, fresh eyes and focus on door handle requiring pushing in then making sure cable properly in on door card.. all good , learning curve :roll:
