Does anyone else get stupid nervous on MOT day?

Every time there is worry, nerves, will it pass, have I checked everything, is there some hidden issue I'm not aware of.

Car is 17 years old, hasn't had an MOT in 18 months due to covid, yet flew through this morning with no advisories.

I need to worry less.

Nope. :) So far the Z4MR is the most reliable car I have ever owned.

Deep breath, she will be fine..............and relax. :D

Wouldn't say I massively worry, I kinda hope it will pass without costing owt extra, I like to thinks I keep it well maintained through the year, when you have to mot 2 cars and 2 motorbikes every year its more of a nuisance than anything else..my tester is always pleased to see me :D

I quite like having mots... gone are the days of serious rust problems, so now its just little things like bushes, dampers and toe links. All stuff that i like having identified and sorted out.

Havent had a serious mot fail for several years now, when i switched to cars made this millenium.

I can't say stupid nervous, but I'm always sitting there fretting about what they might find.

It's always a relief when you get that Pass sheet!

Nope, never get nervous and have never had an advisory either.

Learn the test, know your car so that you can prep it accordingly and it will sail through.

I tend to use the same MOT test garage for all of our cars, they know my Z3 from previous years and always comment on how good it is for a 1999 car. Used them for the Z4 for the first time since its been in my ownership and had an advisory on the rear nearside brake pipe for corrosion, to be honest I wasn't surprised that cropped up, had been under there when I cleaned out the rear arch and noted that they may need some attention. Planning on replacing with stainless flex pipes before the next test is due.

First MOT with the E86 in my ownership a few weeks ago. Yes, worried ,as the last one had a clean bill of health. So, the broken rear spring and discs on the wear limit as measured, lollipop bushes showing degradation means the previous owners MOT was either a little 'iffy' or the garage didnt have a clue on what to look for on a beemer. So with apprehension I turned up. I had been through the car and checked all that I could in the time I have owned it , but its not the same as being on a ramp 6 ft in the air. I was under it with the tester and I was prodding and checking the brake pipes, bushes and anything else that was awkward to do at home with any clarity.
Luckily he said it was one of the cleanest undersides of a beemer he had seen, even at the age it was and suggests it had been kept dryish environment throughout its previous 2 owners lifetime. So, happy with that as at least I now know where I am with the car.

I certainly don't worry. If it needs something, it'll get it. C'est la vie.

I’m more nervous about medical visits these days!
Whatever is wrong with the car is nothing more than cash and inconvenience.

Im wondering how I'm going to get the 335 Mot'd - I got a six month extension from the end of June but we are now in Tier 3
The garage don't do lifts or courtesy cars and the Z4 is in hibernation. We aren't supposed to mix with other households so my daughter shouldn't give me a lift from and back to the test?

I waited while they tested mine today, just under an hour
