Does anyone else get stupid nervous on MOT day?

Some of us can't help to worry, over everything.
I've got fully comp warranty on mine, and only do about 2k miles a year, I still get anxious!
 
I've had three MOT's in the last month on the two Alpina's and the Coupe and I'm pleased to say not one advisory amongst all of them.

I did once take the Alpina in for an MOT about 3 years ago and on talking to the Tester afterwards, he said that he could have given me an advisory on one thing but it was dubious and in his words "Anyone who cleans and polishes the inside of their alloys, deserves the benefit of the doubt" he said a clean car makes his job so much easier as he doesnt have to brush through the dirt to inspect things and get bits in his eyes when they drop down

I've always remembered that prior to taking a car in.

I think that's my only (and best) option - I will have to sit in their showroom with a mask and not accept any of their "Free" coffee!
 
Have had my zed for 6 years & 6 mot's now. And it has passed every 1 with just minor advisories on 3 occasions, which have been sorted straight away. The different testers have always commented on how well its cared for or looked after, given its age. (im proud of that) :thumbsup:

I do clean my cars before the MOT , as it shows you look after them. Seeing some of the cars at the garage , makes me think they were only clean as they were picked up new. I have one MOT in October, one in November and now one in December to finish the year off :roll:

Unless you need the car, leave it until after new year/restrictions lifted and get it done then.
 
Never get nervous over the Mot,know the mot tester very well,my eldest lad :rofl:
Get him to check the cars over a month before there due and if they need anything I’ll do it straight away. :thumbsup:
 
I used to when I took cars to a local garage (e.g. £29 for an MOT type job) where they failed you for everything under the sun they thought they could get away with.

Now I take it to a specialist MOT garage that charges a flat fee of £55, but you don't pay it until you pass. They also don't do ANY repairs, which means they have no incentive to fail you on work they would like to charge you for.
 
I do because its a ballache when it fails and you usually have to open your wallet and let the garage have a root around!

Fortunately for me, mine passed today with no advisories! :D First MOT in my Z4.

To add to this a council MOT also removes the incentive to fail as they don’t do repairs.
