Does a battery change on a non IBS car need registering?

Greetings and salutations.
I've eventually became the proud owner of a 2014 melbourne red metallic series 20i z4 with only 18700 miles and now I've loads of questions.

The original Varta battery is still fitted and I think its struggling to hold its charge, there is a small connection on the negative post but nowhere near the size of the one on my daughters mini which has IBS. Assuming mine doesn't and I replace the battery, will it need registering?

Do the vin decoding sites still work so I can see what the full spec of the car is?

Is it possible to get a hard copy of the digital service record or is it a trip to a dealer?

TIA

I would find the date on that battery before you change it, looks very new might still be under a warranty if you are lucky

I think his photo shows it as 10/14?
