Do you use your Zed through the winter?

It's my only car, so will be taking it to work every day. I also live on a big hill, so snow/ice will happen.

A winter car is on the cards, it's not me so much, but other people!

Garage queen from NOV 1 until MAR 31

Seems about even-stevens to me . . . .

I decided a few months ago to buy a 323 for winter and keep the zed under a cover during this time. The 323 is a project however which should hopefully pass its MOT second time round...

Some years ago a pals Saab got stuck in the snow on a hill, the MGB I had at the time had winter rubber on the rear only and it Breezed up no problem.

I've no doubt that the Zed with proper winter rubber would do the same!

Roof down on a frosty day with heaters on when the sun is shining is a great feeling.

Just spent all weekend putting on additional layers of polish and wax for those winter months

Excellent - you see the earlier post where pvr says he pressure washes under his cars and then does the same with a wax wash to help protect

A little time spent waxing helps the dirt fall off during those winter months. I wash with fresh water under the car after most drives during the winter months. I can't be sure but i reckon washing as much salt a dirt off the under side of the car as I can, is better that leaving it to build up. It soon drys off sat in the garage for weeks at a stretch this time of year. One other thing I do is take it for a 100 yard drive at walking pace up and down our road, dabbing the breaks gently as I go with my left foot, before I tuck it away. I also leave the hand break off in the garage.

I will be using mine over the winter... Just trying to find the right set of winter wheels and tyres .... Paul is there any more road trips out up here in the next 2 weeks??

All great advice

If the cars a keeper then get the overalls on and give the underside and floorpan a good coating of Dintrol wax.

Tim.

Think I'm at the age where I'll use the special attachment on the Kercher Tim
