Do you have a general rule of thumb?

Hi all,ive seen a few soft tops of various makes(including zeds) in various carparks with their tops down and their owners obviously in the shop/store,and was wondering if you had a general rule you go by for leaving them like this?-do you go by area,time you are going to be away from your car,if its cloudy etc?-thanx

x3. Well x2 1/2. I will leave it down at carshows - meets. If it's a carshow and I won't be around it, most electronic go in the center console/trunck and I put the windows up as well. Depends on the crowd/meet. If pistonheads/this forum meet, I generally don't worry about the devices.

I just don't leave my top down in the garage because it would just my luck spiders would get in my car then crawl over me while I'm driving, which would make me jump out of the driver seat lickity split like.

I only leave my roof down if i can keep an eye on the car otherwise when i park up i roof up, too many nasty a$$holes going about i wouldn't risk it.

I spoke to Admiral insurance about this and they said that if the car is left with the roof down then it's not insurances against theft or anything else come to think of it

Always left with the roof up.It'll only take a pillock with a half drunk can of sticky pop or lit fag end to ruin your pride and joy. If it at a car show, then yes,ALL other times ,no.

I used to leave my VX220's roof off EVERYWHERE, sometimes overnight on the street as i forgot... Partly out of laziness as its completely manual! I lived on a purely student street with typical student activities going on (plus later found out a cannabis factory next door but one) and never had any problems. There was just nothing to steal and people seemed to respect it. The only time i ever had a problem was a handful of grass on my seat when at Chatsworth rally show, probably from a mate!

Leave the roof off my Zed a fair bit, but not for too long periods. Its just got a much worse 'wankers car' image
