Do Compliments About Your Car.....

I don't see how an unsolicited compliment could be considered showing off. Now if you respond with a string of statistics without being asked, that could be considered showing off. When I first had the Zed, I was a bit uneasy about the attention it got. I didn't feel I was showing off, rather I just generally prefer to not stand out. At some point I realised, no one was noticing me, just the car. I'm good with that. While I appreciate any compliments, I'd just as soon talk about something else in person. I get all the Zed talk I need right here!

I always quote stats when someone compliments my car :|

Just to be clear, I was simply quoting my half of a conversation involving questions... I just usually just say "thanks" ... And feel embarrassed :D

When I'm driving this I receive a lot admiring glances and comments from the opposit sex

However when I'm out in my Fiesta runabout I'm invisible

Only had family and friends compliment our zed, until this week then one of the delivery drivers at work, and a neighbour both said how gorgeous the zed looked(must of been this thread! :) )

I've had quite a few comments.. mainly because of mg age and the fact that I can look 16 on a clean shaven day. its a little embarrassing because commentors are usually a lot older and quite flattering... I take the humble subtle approach ... 'yeh its not bad. doesn't ride anything like your typical car though... too harsh and the steerings weird :('. otherwise I'd just come across as a smug c*ck. I do appreciate the comments but didn't buy it to impress anyone.. I don't smoke or drink so thought I'd treat myself to something I enjoy :D

That was clear to me. I was not directing any comment to you in particular, just offering my opinion in general.

Hadn't taken offence

i occasionally get compliments paid, i don't feel awkward in any way, i normally have a chat with the person and basically agree with their observation.

it's almost always elderly gentlemen on supermarket carparks. i don't know what to make of that :D

I had a guy follow me into the gym carpark the other day to have a look at my car and I was really pleased and chuffed he did, turns out he had looked at an M coupe a few weeks back but was put off by the VED and potential bills, partly because his brother owned a problematic E46 M3.

We had a good 10 minute chat all about my car and cars in general, and I thought he was a member of my gym until he put his helmet back on, hopped on his bike and went  it was only then I realised he had gone out of his way to follow me in as he was behind me for at least a mile or so!

I have also had the usual kids at traffic lights and carparks shouting "nice car" and ive got to be honest I love it :D
