Do AP Racing rear BBK use oem hoses?

Hi folks, so i'm having my AP kit installed as I write. After a 2 month wait to get them! Anyhow just got a call from the mechanic saying they forgot the rear hoses. So I rang up and was told that some rear kits use the OEM rear hoses and it should say on the installation guide. I passed on that info and the mechanic is checking it out. But thought i would ask here as im sure some of you already have AP racing kits?

Cheers

yeah they use the stock rear hose however that didnt sit right with me so i purchased a braided rear set so have a full line-up of braided lines....
heres how it looks!! make sure the dude puts the rear brake pad clips int he correct way SOOOOO many installs ive seen with the anti rattle clips in backwards ;-)

hi alan, added a pic for you so you can see what it should look like, both hose and clip,

BTW you'll love these the braking performance in actually incredible.....

Yea can't wait to get in on the track and really see what their like!

they are literally one of the best mods ive ever done to a car..... the way they haul the car from speed is eye watering.... my car puts down some serious power and let me tell you, they shrug it off like its a 200hp clio...... as with everything, their are downsides however, insane brake dust, noisy, don't perform to well until warm, and the components are extremely expensive to replace.....

So their having problems using the old hoses, they say they dont fit on to the calipers. I think ill pop down to see whats going on. Beedub, did you ever have the old hoses attached or did you get new hoses from the begining?

cheers

The stock hoses WILL fit , I used them as a pattern piece for the braided units... As you can see from my pic the tread into a piece that then bolts into the caliper .... See that brass looking piece.... That comes with the kit.... You hose screws into that....

this setup belongs to my mom its nice to use however... i just use the garage spaces......
their are 6 garages here, 2 large seperate blocks of three, one is just for car storage and the other one has been converted to a gym, the gym is heated so i move the car into their when im working on it as it comfortable and their a tv and general mod cons..... its rather cool!!

Sorted! I don't think they were expecting to have to cut part of the back plate off. So about the noise you mentioned, are you talking about wrattle? The guy did say he put on the anti wrattle plate one way and then the ap racing guys said to put it on the other way around just like you said. There is still a little wrattle which im fine with as long as its to be expected?

The manual / ap racing clearly outline which way it goes ;-) its much more difficult to get on correctly hence why many put it on reversed.. It doesn't do it's job in the reverse position and will give you a rattling sound .....

OP hows the brakes???

looking forward to beating the crap out of mine next week on my next sprint session :-)

I actualy havnt been able to give them a good go yet, drove back from the garage with the old brake kit in the car. Now i have an exhause, brakes and a set of wheels lying around the house! Anyway, going to head out now, hopefully the traffic isnt too s**t being that im in london and everyone and their dog is out enjoying the sun today.

And heres some pics before i fit them. I tell you, they look soooo big before you put them on. Was getting worried they wouldnt fit, but looks like there was lots of room :)

Awesome!!! Lol!! The caliper looks huge !!

How much did these set you back ??
