Discovery etc on sky

FYI, discovery have come to an agreement with Sky, and they are staying on their platform. Lovely ol' job

Thanks for that. I thought this might happen at the 11th hour although this does make my negotiations for a discount a little more difficult. £84 a month is too much.

I work for Sky (don't shoot me) and I agree that it's a seriously expensive package, though I don't think there is much out there that can beat it for quality, intuitiveness and content. I have Sky Q and it's bloody brilliant (though I would say that  ). The loss of Discovery and Eurosport is frustrating though in this case it was Discovery who were holding us to ransom the greedy beggers.

I would suggest those who want to stay with Sky give them a call and express your concerns, say you are considering moving to a competitor (BT) and see if they negotiate the price. It's amazing what the sales team will do to hold on to a customer.

Tried this yesterday with no joy I have an older HD package that came with the F1 chanel I was told they could only knock £3 of the bill and this was only for a limited time.

When I phoned last year I got the same no can do attitude but phoned again an hour later and was speaking to a different person much more helpful and gave me a decent discount although that has now finished and am paying the higher price and stuck in a contract till end of April.

I guess if you are locked in to a contract then you wouldn't have much bargaining power. Come April I would give them another try to see what they can offer. Be prepared to jump ship if they won't go low enough for you, as others have said there are cheaper options out there.
