Diffuser

So many questions in this thread....

There diffuser is BMW part # 51 71 0140 384 Costs £295.65 plus VAT and is a UK sotock item.
It has a single outlet and needs modifying for dual. Of course it woudl fit direct to a single outlet, but as stated above odd...

Yes changing to an ///M is one way but service costs are way more, it's insurance is a lot more and Mrs CJ does like the steptronic. Fo me the car is a project and a lot of fun to mess with

Femme T's exhausts are stock round tips that just at that angle look oval.

It's $588 over here at Tischer. I've debated picking one up and installing it as is, then doing the second pipe mod later, but I actually think it looks better without the diffuser if you only have the standard 1 side exhaust. So it's either all or nothing. I've also considered the much simpler method of moving up to an ///M so I can get the nicer front bumper and hood, not to mention the awesome power increase, but without the Step (or new dual clutch setup), it's not an option. :headbang:

Hmmm I suppose if you were going to go to a lot of trouble moving the battery etc, how about making the pipes a bit more central, like the E9x M3, would make it a bit more modern and unique, or is that too much hassle?

That's can't be the factory setup, can it? That looks horrible. :o

I thought the same when I first saw those exhausts. :o

I don't think BMW have been very good with the exhaust rear pipe exit design on any of their M cars including the Z4M.

You can see too much of the muffler boxes from the rear on the Z4M IOM. :?

E39 M5 was the first and last where it looked proper mean and purposeful. Since then they have grown increasingly 'showy'
