I assume 3.08 is the manual 6 speed and 2.56 the 7 speed DCT also available on the 35i

As Chippie said earlier , I don't know if you are taking the micturition (you spelled it wrong BTW), but the drive ratios are the same. The 35i has two, one for a manual and one for the DCT; the 35is only has the DCT. The DCT is 2.56 for both. BTW there is a typo in the literature, if you look at the 28i drive ratios, they have been transposed from the manual to the auto. I know feckin fascinating, huh?

Please forgive me, as you had most kindly advised me the procedure for posting a link and I had neglected to thank you, which is not at all satisfactory behaviour. I think the Blue you mention is Deep Sea Blue, which does looks fantastic with the white (Ivory?) interior. :wink:

Yes, thank you, as I believe you have correctly identified the precise colour. I am thinking that with the autumn period closing in upon us followed by the perhaps grim prospect of winter, may cause one or two custodians to release their machines to another for its continued safekeeping. This apart, it does somewhat surprise me how frequently they become available,... I tend to check-in to Autotrader, Ebay and Piston Heads each day. So, I am happy to sit and wait which in fact is a very good thing for the human condition.

As an aside to all the technical stuff which I don't profess to understand in the slightest, wonder how many 35is owners would swap to a 35i and vice versa if no additional cost was involved?

Actually I think Z4MAD should close his account and open a new one as Mr Proletariat. And I’m probably not the only one here who had to look up micturition, what a great word that is, must use tomorrow :thumbsup:

and another thing, after reading many many pages, it dawned on me that this thing with the 35i versus the 35iS is just the same as those in the good old days with the Z4M and everyone else, but at least there, they could say well it’s a proper M car :poke:

I wonder if life will be easier with the G29

I have been ruminating upon the aspect of 'Lithium' and the ramifications thereof for machines such as the E89 (I needed to include E89 to make this post legal in the context of where it has been placed). However, what pray are your views and opinions on this lightest of all metals inter alia its usage in batteries, compared to petroleum fuled devices and does it follow that we shall become 'Battery-Heads' rather than 'Petrol-Heads'?

Regretfully, the Melbourne Red Machine is close to the near hinterlands of the other-side-of-the-Universe (Scotland).

The second example is promoted as low mileage; perhaps to some, sixty three thousand miles would be categorised as low; for myself, it is too high a mileage for me to countenance

The third example appears to be a very nice example, but when correctly researched, the downside is that it has had four owners and the service history, in my humble opinion, is dire.

I have danced this dance on many occasions over the years; however, it is so simple to allow emotion to rule one's decision thus that one ends up with a miserable dose of 'Buyers Remorse'. I believe that all time consumed in research and reconnaissence is seldom wasted. Essentially, I do my best endeavours to operate under the axioms of 'Fail to Prepare, Prepare to Fail' and, 'Fail to Plan, Plan to Fail'.

I shall continue to sit within the shadow of the wind........

I wouldn't worry too much about the number of owners. Z4s seem to change hands quite often as I think they get bought with the heart and often the head realises a Z4 may not have been the right choice! My current Z4 has had 7 previous keepers.

But I don't know what the Service History looks like.

Still you seem patient so I'm sure the right car will turn up!

Yes, I do understand that the number of owners should not define a motor car, but when it is associated with a service history that is not up to muster, then for me, it does put a sufficiently large question mark for me not to proceed further.

this is link to page I used to find cars -does include ebay autotrader etc but does fang others. A bit lumpy but you can set your own budget. mileage etc- save it then get daily updates for cars that meet your criteria e-mailed to you.
Also worth changing search to 35iS as can find others.
