Seeing how the used prices have been quite buoyant recently I'm thinking now would be a good time to sell my lovely Z4.

We've got a new rescue dog coming and it's going to be here 2 months earlier than expected and as such, the Beemer just isn't going to get used as much, as we'll be travelling in our Yeti most of the time, or I'll be using my KTM for sunny blasts.

Bought it in May 2020 whilst bored in Lockdown. Didn't get used much last year due to obvious reasons and it'll be used less in the future so time to move it on.

2013 facelift model on a 13 plate. Just over 62k miles. MOT until May 2022. Pretty much full main dealer or independent service history.
20i Msport, professionally remapped. Don't have dyno printout but it's night and day compared to a standard one. Much better.
Valencia Orange with contrasting gloss black roof. Pretty rare combination I think.
Heated seats. Heated steering wheel. Climate control with ice cold aircon. Remote folding mirrors. Front and rear parking sensors.
I-drive. Extended leather inside. Design Traction interior, heated seats with electric lumbar and bolster adjustment.
8 spd auto with Comfort/Sport/Sport+ drive modes
Wind deflector. BMW Professional satnav updated to latest maps from dealer. Auxilary USB in glovebox.New BMW floor mats
Cruise control. Automatic lights and wipers. DAB Radio. Bluetooth. Live traffic updates. Onboard computer. Tyre pressure management system.
Custom stainless exhaust fitted recently with twin 3 inch outlets. Doesn't drone on the motorway but has a much deeper tone and occasionally pops on high rpm shifting.
Recently fitted 4 Vredestein Ultrac Vortis. 19" Alloys with some kerb damage but no cracks - had them checked when new tyres were fitted.
Just had main service at BMW independent garage. £550 including new brake fluid and front pads, plus all filters etc.
No issues with roof mechanism - and it can be dropped remotely. One small stone chip on front bonnet edge.

Having looked on Autotrader and seen the cheapest VO one at about £16k+, albeit with slightly lower mileage and a year younger. and comparative 2013 models for over £12k, I'm going in the middle and asking £12,500 for it in the condition it's in Pretty fair I think, given the spec and extras.
Car is located in Torquay. Happy to provide any further info or pics on request.

Thats is one nice car and if I did not have mine, I would be straight after that one and the price is very reasonable based on what I am seeing for VO cars.

Think it will sell very quickly

Well, despite the kind remarks and a couple of PMs, there doesn't appear to be much interest.
Will probably go down the Autotrader route now. Just a quick question - do you think the fact it's been remapped and I've mentioned the new exhaust is putting people off? Not sure whether to put it in the advert.

Personally I think for auto trader punters most mods will be seen as no no’s …

I know it’s rich coming from me…considered this issue myself…

Maybe describe it as a 28i

The images are hard to view in dropbox, try uploading them as attached in line and delete the links.

This type of car is just waiting for the right buyer, colour whilst well liked on the forum is not everyones cup of tea, its a great car at an attractive price, personally Id do ebay with a 30 day classified, wouldn't worry about the mods again whilst they enhance the car some will not, basically its a niche car but someone is going to love it you just need to patient and wait for the right buyer..they're out there

Cheers guys. I'm a bit of a numpty with hosting pictures on forums but I know it's easier on ebay so I'll look at that option now.

As you say it's not everyone's colour choice but I specifically wanted the orange and black combination and it's an excellent example. And the spec is really high which worked for me.

Resize the photos (that'll make them smaller in terms of file size) - I went for 1600 x 1200 - and save them. Next, just drag and drop the file on to a forum post (e.g. edit your first post). Once the photos upload, place the cursor in the desired location for the photo and click on "Place inline" in the "Attachments" section below the edit window. I've done the first one for you so that people can at least get an idea of what the car looks like. If that's not OK, let me know and I will amend this post immediately. Also, I suggest you take the car somewhere you can more easily get the whole thing in shot. I couldn't find any photos that comfortably had the whole car in them, except maybe the front on shot. Hope that's useful.

The colour combo is sick. Probably the best one.

It’s your pics which need sorting!

Yeah, I get that. Did them in a bit of a hurry after cleaning it. I'll get out into some more picturesque locations at the weekend and take some better ones.
I'll probably still struggle to post them up, mind 😩

If this goes on eBay at the money asked on here it will be gone very quickly, I would start it £10k with a £13.5k reserve and if it reaches the £12.5 but not the reserve then you can contact the highest bidder to see if they want a deal.

Get some pics up on here and see what happens as it is a cracking car

Simple when you know how, choose photo library and choose your pictures. You can preview before you post if you want

GLWTS, I agree with OGR & Mr Tourettes, if going on eBay price a bit stronger

Regards the remap, I would advertise it as a "full power" 2 litre. If you explain to punters that the N20 was designed to produce 245bhp, ala 28i, then the 20i was 'strangled' from the factory for marketing reasons.
Your generic remap will have headline figures of 270 ish bhp, but that will be on 98 RON fuel, therefore if you market it as 250-260bhp (which is more likely what it's producing on 95 RON), that's only a smidge over the 245 of "standard" so should help alay fears of a "modified" car. HTH

Regarding pictures; pictures with the doors, boot and bonnet open can be confusing IMO, as you can't see the car. Roof up showing the whole car and loads with the roof down is the way traders post pics.

Many thanks for the advice guys

I'll get on to it by the weekend, before I change my mind and get rid of the wife instead

Another option is to increase the price a little on advertising (the car is already cheap) and offer to have the map removed if it doesn't suit the buyer.. most of the companies that do these offer this for a small fee.. maybe contact the installation company and ask about cost.. may aid your sale for a more cautious buyer, i still think it will sell as is though tbh with a good advert reaching a wider audience and a little patience

Do that and you’ll have no bl00dy money left to keep the car
