Delighted with the results of paint protection

After looking at many different (clear) wrapping and paint protection options for the paintwork on my Z4 35i, I decided that wrapping and frequent waxing wasn't for me however the third option of a low maintenance semi-permanent paint protection was attractive. After looking online and speaking with some detailer experts, I chose IGL Kenzo paint protection. This solution was recommended to me by UK Detailing (https://www.ukdetailing.com/index.html), they advised that IGL Kenzo was their toughest coating at 10H (paint is usually around the 5H mark) and was guaranteed to last for 4 years. It is a Soya based product which once applied and curred created a tough shell which water and dust struggle to cling to (it's great).

The result of the work carried out by UK Detailing is amazing, they had my car for a week and in addition to the coating, they decontaminated the paint workm, colour corrected a few of the panel's paintwork, stripped the callipers and re-painted them, paint protected the alloys and polished the interior trim to remove minor scratches.

All the marring on the paintwork has disappeared and the paint now has a deep gloss which barely takes any time to clean. See photos of the end result below.

Your car looks beautiful  You don't mind me asking what was the total cost? you say they removed scratches from the interior trim, this wasn't the brushed aluminium by any chance?

Thanks - the whole lot cost about £1000.00. The interior trim polishing was only about a c.£20 charge. My trim is black (pic below), but if you lift near the UK Detailing it is worthwhile dropping into see what they can do for you.

Many thanks

Paint protection looks good. I like the way you've had the side indicators coloured gunmetal grey (or whatever) to match the wheels

That ain't cheep.

Sounds about right for a weeks work. I have been quote similar here in Spain except in Euros to do full paint correction 3 stage polish ceramic coating with wheels off and sealed and windows sealed plus engine bay and interior detailed.

No, but I think it was good value when you consider the man hours put in and they really do have a great attention to detail. They do have have different coatings for different budgets, but I plan to be keeping my Z4 for many years so wanted the coating with the longest protection.

Thanks, although I can’t take credit for that. The previous owner had made the changes to the indicator blades.

I did however have the alloys resprayed as I managed to scratched the drivers side alloys in a horrible 70s carpark in Loughborough. Changed them from a metallic grey to a satin grey in the process so wasn’t all bad

Not yet but hopefully soon. I need to get the bumper sorted first, the previous owner had a minor bump and didn't have it repaired properly. It wouldn't bother most but I am bit fussy about these things. 2 wheels also need refurb (thanks to the previous owner again) and I am going to have the callipers painted, not sure what colour yet but I am leaning towards grey and red. Hopefully have it all sorted in the next month or two.

I am sure it will be worth the effort and cost to scratch the perfectionist itch! Hope to see some before and after pics in a couple of months :driving:
