I use AutoGlym Super Resin Polish because it's so easy to apply and looks effective.
I use Meguire's Wax (but haven't applied it yet to the ///M).
Think sammyz must have had a sealant or something applied to the ///M as the paintwork looks excellent.
So what do you suggest for protection and then regular application?
Firstly find nearest bin,
Introduce the AUTO - we fill our product with Calicum carbonate as it liquid weight not volume it's sold by and hence leaves the white marks and ruins rubbed -GLYM to it terrible terrible stuff
It's a polish mate, this is purely designed to shine
People often mistake polish as wax and visa versa
I'd wash car/ clay bar it, this'll get rid of tar and contaminants/ dry it/ then use Maguiars gloss polish, it's on wipe and then buff panel instantly
This will give deep glossy wet look/
Then use Maguiars ultimate wax
This will seal in the clean paintwork and the polish and give it a mild protection and bead water
If in doubt you can later the wax
See it as the clay bar is rubbing down wood
The polish as undercoat
The wax as the gloss
The ceramic sealant, mine has had all this done if look for my post on here
But if going to do that, get a detailer to give car a machine polish then let's say a coat of polish, then two of the ceramic sealant beit Cquartz or Gtechniq then two of exo coating
Then for next 4/5/7 years you only ever need to wash n dry car![]()
SRP has it's place as an AIO (All In One) product. For the Gen Pop it's fine, as it does add a smidge of protection, but should be followed up by EGP (Extra Gloss Protection, if we're sticking with Halfrauds best!!).
On the next part, afraid I disagree, chap. Claying tar off a car is the worst source of marring. Tar removers and fall out removers, i.e. touchless products and processes, should be used before you go near the paint with a contact product. Additionally, the Meguiars product you mentioned is an AIO. It states it "Restores valuable oils to feed and nourish the surface.", so is basically filling again.
You're correct that polish creates the shine and wax (for the most part) adds protection, but incorrect that it should be layered. Rarely can you see the wax add much, and if it does, it's likely to offset looks with longevity.
However, all the above is irrelevant if the OP needs scratch resistance. As you've correctly stated, either a decent hobbyist on the forum or a known detailer (where are you based OP?) can apply CQuartz UK, Crystal Serum (or black series if adding Exo too as most do), Gyeon etc.
(D4, all the above said as hoping to be helpful to you in the future, rather than tearing apart you post)
You weren't rude in any form
Different views and prospectives are always good in my book
I'd say get it detailed
