Having driven in America. Don't think it would matter tbh... Majority of them are all stoned half the time and majority of cars have dings and dents on them. I was shocked at the state of the cars over there. As if nobody has insurance or it costs so much they don't bother claiming as it would bankrupt them come renewal time.

People don't import cars from UK to for example Serbia because we can't register RHD cars here. There are cars that are half the price from UK on our ads and all of them are being sold for parts.

About the OPs question, I would go with the older sorted vehicle. I think it is worth the price. 10k is fine to offer for car with low miles and problems.
