Dash lights / Cruise Control

I put my car into the stealers today to have Cruise Control fitted. (Post 10/04 and didn't fancy the job myself) - if anyone is interested they charged me 2 hours labour :o - one for fitting and one for programming, testing and presumably washing the car. I had the parts from eBay. It seems to work well but I wanted to check with those of you who have CC whether you get a light on the dash when you use it or not as mine doesn't, all the other cars I've driven with CC have. :?

I've also noticed that I don't seem to have a light to indicate that the headlights are on (normally, or side lights - not full beam). Seems a bit odd to me I'm 99% certain that it was there before (although I'm starting to question myself!). The other dash lights seem to work, Indicators/Full beams/Fogs etc. Can someone confirm if it should be there and tell me whether I need to take it back in or if it'd be easier to fix it myself.

Also what is the button on the end of the CC stick for? It doesn't seem to do anything!

Button on end of CC stalk is resume. CC is always on-push forward to set/increase speed, pull toward you to lower speed, push up or down to disengage.

No light to indicate headlights on other than the dash now glows orange. Only indicator is high beams and fog lamps.

I fitted cruise to a pre 10/04,plug and play and no light on the dash,i know what you mean my previous car was a 320ci sport coupe with cruise and that did have light on the dash when in use :?

No light here for cruise one or headlights either - sounds normal to me

could do with a light though :?

I do indeed. That was the day I collected it. Happy days. Alloys look a bit small now.

im going to fit cc on mine soon... so it doesnt show a light eh? Does it show which speed it's set to on the dash screen at all? Or do you only know what speed its set at by looking at where the needle is?

Speed indication via speedo needle

am i reading this right, it seems very strange that there is nothing to let you know the cruise is on

my last 3 cars have all had cruise and they all had a light on the dash board

Can someone with factory fit CC confirm wether if there is any indication light on the dash. Thanks

I have factory fit cruise on a facelift and theres no indicator light. Why on earth would you want one - does having cruise stop you putting your foot on the brake or something???? :poke:

nope no light.. and not needed imho.

remember too if you use the Resume button on the end to get back up to speed, if you're in Sport it will do it slightly more urgently 8)

whats the point of the light on the dash board if it doesn't work (Page 9 of my manual), surely some one must have a factory fitted cruise with light on dash board
