Dash lights / Cruise Control

Hi All,

New member here - had my Z4 about a month now and CC is one of the only options it hasn't got (that and parking sensors but I have eyes so I don't think I need them!).

Would be interested in doing a retrofit - is there a parts list or guide around? It's noted on the FAQ but didn't spot any links to info.

:)

Looks like an easy job and cheap as well - I'll take a screwdriver out with me tommorrow morning and see if that cable is under the cowl (Manufactured Sept 2004 I think, so it could go either way...)

Perfect! Cheers :)

welcome :) If you've not got that cable, it's only £20 more for the cable, so still a damn cheap retro :D

if you get stuck, feel free to pm me :)

I agree, why on earth do you need a light on the dash to tell you that you've activated cruise control? Driving a sports car, you really should be aware.

nope no light.. and not needed imho.
Retrofitted or standard fitment, there's no light, whatever the manual says
New Gen BMWs like the e60 and e90's have the display, and will tell you the exact mph it's set to.

I fitted my cc last night and to be honest, everyone above is right. You don't need a light. I just assumed it would be like a merc where you choose a speed on the lcd screen and then select it. I'd still prefer that, but I'm just being picky!!

[*] Cruise Control depending on the model year of the car is an excellent value addition. On an /M this is much trickier.

That makes me a very sad Panda.

You realise ALL of these posts (this one, the washer fluid one...) they are ALL AlanJ's fault!
If he hadn't made us all read the manual, we wouldn't be finding things are cars are (according to the manual) supposed to have, but clearly dont!
