Current oil prices , and fuel costs in your area

Crude oil prices fell significantly last Friday, hopefully this will be reflected at the pumps soon.

They have fallen pretty constantly for the last 6 weeks , the forecast cost of crude is thought to average $72 by early next year . (Could be wishful thinking )
But to date forecourt prices have gradually crept up to average £1.50 in uk.
But it’s not making headline news so the petrol giants are enjoying a bonanza.
There will be excuses in sure , but it doesn’t cut it in my book.
The Rpi takes in fuel cost , no wonder inflation is being kept high . ( I am I no way an analysis of any stats !!, just an honest user of fuel)

You see, the panic buyers made sense. They still have a garage full of petrol at £1.20 a litre

There are reports of Amazon before January are going to offer customers who have Visa credit cards attached to their account, £10 vouchers to switch them to another card.
We all got the same email and as the card that I use for all my Amazon purchases was a Visa card I had to find another so took out Amazon's own Mastercard and got £40 added to my Amazon account.
I did the something similar but first added one of my Mastercard Credit Cards to my account - Amazon gave me £20. Then I applied for Amazon's own Mastercard Credit Card - they gave me another £40. Then I got Cindy to apply for Amazon's Mastercard - another £40.

So Amazon have given us £100, about a full tank of diesel for the X3 (just to get back on-topic), for taking cards we'll never use. I have several cards for different purposes e.g. one for holidays with no foreign transaction charges, and don't need the Amazon one. It's actually quite scary if I look at the combined credit limit that I could, theoretically, take advantage of, but any spend is paid off immediately so they never get a penny in interest.

Play the game... if they're offering free money, you'd be silly not to take it :D. Admittedly the 'money' they give you has to be spent at Amazon but, with Christmas approaching, there are gifts that need to be purchased.

Lol

I had to take a picture at the pump as I filling up as it made me laugh so much.

This is not motorway prices, but in the next town from where I live (north yorkshire)

Did you get shouted at by a hysteric pump station employee about the use of your phone on the forecourt? They used to go beserk about that a few years back, not hearing it so much nowadays though.

They are normally head down at their desk when ever I fill up- assuming on their phones.

I did get shouted at the other week filling my partners car up else where. They make it so difficult filling up a car having to navigate a touch screen to pay in store rather than at the pump! I was looking at the man behind the window hoping he would turn the fuel on for me but I had messed up- I hadn't pressed Up, C, Down, C, Left, C, Right to access the pay in the store (little sonic joke for you there).

It's alright as I get 3% off fuel as we get our other energy from them....

Yes agree we are being ripped off. Here in the states (I live in Columbia MO) I paid $3.59 a gallon for premium Gas. Which I have to run in all of my cars. And because of state Taxes I have seen that the prices in CA. (California Us) is over $5 premium gallon in some places. IMHO this is all because of the political hacks countries currently in power. Prices of everything is up and I see no sign of stopping. But as we all know even if prices fall they will never get back to were they were. As companies will push prices as high as people will tolerate.

I paid almost $4 per gallon the last time I filled up the Z. I use regular in the Tacoma and the FJ. I live 11 miles from Ohio where I can get regular for about $0.40 cheaper than here in PA. Premium is close in both states, not worth the 22 mile round trip to fill the Z in Ohio.

Perfect time for a “Let’s go Brandon” !

Am I missing something? Why are people filling Zeds with premium fuel when BMW recommend regular even for the 35is?

As long as I don't use supermarket stuff, it runs fine for me.

My local Tesco is still £1.489 per litre for Regular, but I paid £1.559 for Momentum.

And I use premium fuel because BMW recommend at least 98 RON for the M and the N52 engines in the facelift E85/86s.

Super unleaded also does a better job of cleaning the engine internally due to the improved detergent additives

N52 equipped 3.0si coupe here, states 95ron on the fuel cap. I usually just use 95 but occasionally put a tank of 99 in for the reasons Rob mentioned

In addition to the above reasons, it is also dependent on how often a car is used. If your Z4 is not used over winter, or in general only every now and then, better to fill up with 98 RON / premium because that will deteriorate slower than 95 RON.

That's strange, although I can't remember what my 3.0Si said now.

Only my 330i with the same N52 engine recommends 98 RON whenever possible. :?

WELL, currently crude is trading below 80$ a barrel, on a six week low . Now question is , is anyone seeing a drop in prices yet .
I paid yesterday £1.60 a litre for diesel yesterday, anyone convinced to say we are not being utterly ripped off at present .

We are now below $70 a barrel and yet I still havent seen any downward movement on the cost of fuel :headbang:
Drivers just being shafted as usual!

We’ve had quite a drop in prices here. Unleaded dropped 6/7p a litre in 2 days about 10 days ago, now £1.38. I was in the city last week and the fuel there was 10p+ a litre dearer. It’s always been the reverse as long as I can remember
