CSL Reps arrived and fitted - New Pics!!

They look fab against a black Z. I wonder how you go the trolley jack under your sills, I tried to lift the front over the weekend and my trolley jack wouldn't fit under the car, I had to drive it onto a piece of timber to get the jack under it.

They look great! :D

I agree something doesn't look quite right with the rear rims. This may be a stupid question but what's the possibility of having the rear wheels machined to bring them in a little?

If it were my car, i would have to lower it now you are running 19's. You could have illegal immigrants hiding in those arch gaps! If it were lower those wheel would look like 19's too, at standard ride height they look way smaller.

Thanks for the comments.

I hoped the wheels would have just fit inside the arch. They are not far off at all. It doesn't look as bad as those first pictures now. They were taken as soon as i lowered it down of the jack, so since i've driven it again they have settled down slightly. I will try and get some better pics tonight (with a decent camera). I do agree that it needs lowering to look its best, i just need to have a think about if it's worth the risk of them rubbing.

I do have the sports suspension, yes. Would lowering on Eibach's mean it wouldn't be quite a 30mm drop with having m suspension anyone?

The tyres are Falken FK452's and the tyre size is correct for the wheels, same size as what is supplied on standard CSL wheels - 265 rear width.

Ino wot u mean about the jack under the sills lol. Tight fit :o

I was thinking about the same thing, of machining the wheels from the inside to get a few extra mm off. I love the dish of proper csl reps so couldn't have gone for anything else offset wise really. I don't know if getting something like that done would seriously compromise the strength of the alloys tho??? I guessing it would

Nah, just a further 15mm from what it is now - I'm got mine on Eibachs and can confrm that. 30mm is front standard, non-sport height.

So from this little experiment we now know our American cousins are wrong and BMW "M" wheels will fit a standard "Zed" 4 on the proviso if hasnt been lowered?

So E46 M3 19s will potentially fit?

I guess so yes. But the do pretrude about 2mm further than the arch so if you don't like that look then i wouldn't bother.

James, you ordered Falkens for your wheels or the same wheels as mine with Falkens?

Thanks

ncie wheels...But echo the comments above a little to far our for me...Can you not get them machined to fit better.

Where did you purchase from (sorry if it's above) Total price?

Using a smaller or bigger (whichever way it is!) offset and then using spacers would get you a perfect fit as you could tailor it but thats assuming the inner wheel clears the inner arch on the width you have.

I would have them machined slightly if i thought it wouldn't affect the strength of the wheel. I don't know if anyone has any knowledge on this type of modification?

They are from Prestige Wheels in Birmingham.

19" 8.5" 235/35/19 Front
19" 9.5" 265/30/19 Rear
Falken FK452 Tyres and includes centre caps, M badges and bolts - £914 delivered.

Not bad price for the quality of the replica.

^ Very much so! Cheers for the info.

BTW you can easily get them skimmed without Jeopardising the integrity of the wheel. Machine shop will be able to mill the wheel no bother.

i think the wheels look great, i think if i could change anything though it would be to drop it at the rear slightly, probably would help to disguise the rear wheel sits out as well maybe ?

I machined off 5mm from a set of momo arrows about 9/10 years ago. Never had any problems even with a thrash round Silverstone and they didn't even need rebalancing once re-fitted.

I would like to drop it 30mm on Eibachs, but it would probably scrub. I have been in contact with a local engineering firm today and they want me to bring the wheel in to see if they can machine some off the wheel. If they can i will defo be doing a 30mm drop.

Out off interest, i have been reading a few comments on here saying that with M sport suspension the drop is not the full 30mm. Can anyone confirm this? Also, roughly how much the drop is by?

Thanks
