You sure about the dremel bit? The how-to I saw from a 2003 car was simply plug and play with removal of existing bits - but not by dremel though?

If you want to save the £75 expense of buying a new lower cowling (comes part of the kit) then the original needs to be cut out to match the profile of the cruise control switch that it then slots back around. Good news is that the exact cutting line is on it as a moulding mark.

Of course the switch itself is just a click in fit and attach the harness.


Ben - regardless of the build date which is only approximate for the harness, then I would undo the single screw of the lower housing drop it down and look for the harness. It will be a small plug to the left of the column close to the other stalk. It may be tied up or tucked away. If you have it great. If not you need the retrofit kit or harness.

Yes - it must be the meth that you keep in the garage ...

The how-to I saw did indeed replace that lower bit, hence why the "full" kit price was £90 rather then the £75 you mentioned 8)

Did you mod your car then? Can't remember that ...

You'd be lucky at that price. My stealer quoted £75 for the switch alone which is what I went for, or IIRC £150 kit. (all plus VAT) making a bit of wire and the cowling £75...ouch

That about works on price then as per dealer quote to me, but with VAT Inc. on the kit price.
So roughly it £88 switch and £62 loom and cowling, broken down

Very expensive really considering what you get, but a great gadget to have (IMHO)
