drove from cornwall to birmingham yesterday and back via cheltenham and bath, did see a few roadsters but non m's, not a single coupe on the whole trip, saw 3 ferraris tho, late in the evening ,dark and rainy, a car accelerated past on the othe carriage way the noise caught my ear , pretty sure it was a coupe but not sure if it was an m as i could only glimpse 2 pipes on i side, then it was gone, very raspy nice exhaust note that sounded like he was on it a bit. no wonder our cars get so many looks, i really think they are less in your face than a ferrari which do seem to attract a lot of made in chelsea types , if you know what i mean, you could turtn up anywhere in a coupe and mix in any company and not look a prat, ... well , not a complete prat !!! :driving:

 one of the reasons I love mine - the relative rarity compared to roadsters or other stuff like Boxsters.

I regularly see one or two (both non-///Ms, one blue, one silver) on the M40 between London and Warwick around 8:00-9:00. They're usually heading north as I'm heading south.

I only buy unique / rare cars (compact aside).

Drove from London to Scarborough on Friday not a single coupe, back on Sunday not a single coupe. Loads of roadsters E85 and E89 but no coupes. Great cars, rarity is exclusivity and should equal good residuals.

Lol well I am away at the moment so one less. I'm only award of one other coupe in Cheltenham, a nice white one.

They are rare (especially round where I am) but you have to remember they're fairly old and expensive to run - and of course not overly practical. Great cars tho of course.

I like the fact they're rare - interesting you mention about the perception of the coupe, guy at my tennis club owns a very nice few month old black Ferrari, every time he arrives/ leaves (you hear it regardless of whether you see it) you see people rolling their eyes shaking their heads. Fact is tho it's a lovely bit of car and it's more about jealousy than anything else. The zed coupe I think is just that bit more subtle that it doesn't scream look at me which is what people don't like.

I see a lot more non-M coupes than i do M roadsters

M roadsters and M coupes i see about the same (ie not very often) which is to be expected since there are about 600 of each in the country

Saw 1 M coupe in the wrong black colour once znd 1 blue one in the UK. Hell my Coupe even attract comment and interest from 911 and Ferrari owners. All love that old school concept and one Italia owner told me he missed his and wished he had not sold it.

For all it faults its just such a wonderful car to own.

Coupes are rare, for a reason, It's not as if BMW said "Right we are only gonna make so many of these"
Same goes for all those who say, my car colour is really rare.
Again Rare for a reason. hardly anyone who was buying them new wanted one.

:P :P :fuelfire:

I havent seen a M Coupe where i live Haywards Heath ( West Sussex ) but i did see a nice silver Roadster 08 plate M in Bude when i was on holiday going body boarding looked clean :) anyones on here ?

I drove from Norwich to Cornwall at the beginning of Sept and I saw one Coupe on the whole round trip (about 1100 miles in all) - a grey one tearing up the A303. However, I did see several roadsters, a couple of Astons, no end of Porches and more Range Rovers than you could shake a muddy stick at :)

What is it with coupe owners constantly going on about how rare & exclusive their cars are. Are you guys trying to make urself feel better that 'supposed' status makes up for the fact you bought the wrong car...

I always get comments about my roadster....& guess what...I can drop my roof!!!!

Get over it!!!!

no adamski, coupes ar'nt m specific but i think you tend to gravitate to the model you have as that is of more interest to you, on the rd , i find it very hard to tell a 3.0 from an m, at speed.especially from the front. any one on here own or seen a coupe with flip paint ? saw one the other day in cornwall tho very briefly and it was gone, , saw a lovely blue m r just before i bought the coupe, was very nearly swayed, ..... luckily i came to my senses !!! :poke: :fuelfire:

Yeah its like back in the 80's when video recorders first came out, you had VHS and Betamax, Everyone who bought Betamax were always going on about how much better they were than vhs, Just trying to justify the huge error they had made.
