Coupe owners, upgraded to?

So I'm enjoying my z coupe I bought this year and absolutely love it! Main reason being was the shape and lines it really does looks like a well designed sports car. Quiet a few ransoms have had the nice car talk and asked if it's a new model, after telling them it's nearly 10 years old they look shocked. But had a discussion with a friend about what would u like to upgrade to next and I really can't think of something as good looking as the coupe within a decent price range.

So coupe owners what have you or would you "upgrade" to?

How about an e89? It's got the coupe look combined with convertible functionality-best of both worlds?

M would be nice. Back of E89 to me looks kinda girly, bloated. Oh and BTW I'm not deciding to change anytime soon! Just interested in what you guys have got next or thinking of getting next.

I was in the market for a 3.0 coupe but thought sod it and got the M which was the car I really wanted.

Like you though I have no idea of where to go next? Probably lighter though.

I really like the Coupe, but I'll probably change it next year (I get bored easily). Unlike now, I anticipate that I will be moving towards the end of the year or early next year and will be moving closer to home so I wont need to use the car every day any more. With that in mind, I'll probably go for something lighter again. Possibly an Elise, or a Mk3.5 MX5 with some tuning, haven't decided yet.

Just can't find anything I can afford that hits the ' must have' button

Perhaps that's why it's the longest I have ever owned a car - 4 years in Jan !

if i had to get rid of my coupe it would have to be a jag or aston martin

these are out of my price bracket though

Very difficult choice, pal. I'm dreading the day when I have to see it driving away from me for the final time. And no real idea about what to replace it with. I think I'm stuck for now...although an E92 M3 or an M2 often tempt me.

Perhaps not but its all relative, right? It's the proportions that do it for me on all 3 of those cars in a way that, strangely the Astons don't. I am a F-type coupe fan but it's the price that is wrong in that car's case. Sort of brutish I suppose with an element of sleek added in. Neither have a rear end like the Coupe, though, that I will concede

I do have a passion for the Maserati quadroporte but reliability and costs would kill it for me

As for Spikey I'm on for four years in a coupe as of Jan too. Just love the shape of it.
How about save a bit then aim for a used GT86? Not quite as prestigious, but a great shape too.

I'd like a Cayman R 987, but right now I'm putting a fair few £s into getting my coupe top notch. Next week LSD and B12. :driving:

You guys dont consider a 911 coupe as an upgrade? (I mean 997 and later  )
obviously more expensive but also maybe a more prestigious brand.

I think a 981 Cayman would be a good 'upgrade', although raising the budget quite significantly.

I've got a hankering for a RS200 Clio, the manual 2.0, not the silly 1.6 DCT newer one. They are silly value now with proper Recaros and cup chassis, talking £7k. Sorry for rambling, this clearly isn't an upgrade.

I think I've decided on an Elise but I've decided I want a raw drivers car primarily for the weekend.

If I were to upgrade in the "normal" sense, as in, keeping with a car with a similar character / intent, then I'd have Cayman S, Evora, Aston Martin, Jag F-Type on my shortlist. Unfortunately these cars are out of my league for running costs.

On my 3rd Z now no idea were to go next I had a VX and VX turbo loved them but I'm a bit old for them now would love a new Cayman or F type but waiting for the lotto

I love my Z4C and have no scope to increase my budget plus no desire to do so either!

But if I could make the numbers work the only new car I would currently want to buy is a manual 5 litre Mustang GT (forget the turbo-charged, synthesised, flappy-paddled M3s and M4s, too Play Station for me - and everyone makes this sort of stuff now anyway)!
