Much prefer the look of the Alpina to the ///M. Apart from one thing - the Alpina so should have had a quad exhaust fitted as standard!

Then again so should have all 6 pot Zeds! :evil:
 
Well, your missus was right! Whilst the coupe is a great looking car, real sports cars have retractable roofs. I was out for a little while with the roof off this afternoon - hope you were too!m :thumbsdown:
 
Hi markeg and No. 5, the de-gingering was done by a previous owner but I think it looks all the better for it, I did wonder if it was frowned upon, but hey who cares. We have removed the whippy :poke: and also added the intravee.

Yep. The are purists who frown upon any mods, even badges. Met a number of them at an Alpina meet a few years back, they were not impressed that I had decided to de-ginger!

I would totally agree there. Thats the one thing its missing and whilst I'm not a purist, I think it's a step too far to convert it to quad.
Also the standard noise from the Alpina is just so right, I'd be worried that I'd lose the sound in exchange for the aesthetics.
 
I may be wrong but from looking at the Alpina Register and Alpina Archive it seems like quite a few non-UK Alpina Z4s were not ginger in the first place. Looks like most UK Alpinas came ginger out of the factory. Ginger or degingered it's a fantastic looking car!

In fact the show car that Alpina used at the 2004 Geneva Motor Show is not ginger! So I wouldn't worry what anyone tells you about degingering! http://www.alpina-archive.com/?p=1418&nmt=Roadster-S-008
