Coupe Gone. Alpina Here.

Sadly two weeks ago we said goodbye to our much loved coupe (sorry Taz) and said hello to our new to us Alpina Roadster S Lux. No 169.
Although I was and still am a massive fan of the way the coupe looks I had to give in to SWMBO who always wanted a ragtop.
A compromise was reached which was if it was to be a convertible then it would either have to be an "M" or an Alpina, and so we found 169.
Boy what a car, chalk and cheese to the coupe. I have to say it is brilliant in the way it handles, the speed, the suspension and oh the noise, fantastic.

That looks fantastic, you must be over the moon!

I agree on the coupe vs roadster, my MR ticks the right boxes for me, although visually the coupe was the one I always glanced back at when walking away.

Yep well chuffed with it and think that it is more than a worthy succesor to the coupe, all round. :driving:
 
Nice! Great choice. Had my Alpina just over a year now and love it. You are correct about the noise - cannot get enough of it, sounds absolutely fantastic. With Spring here get that top down and listen to the Alpina straight six sing! :thumbsup:

Beedub to answer your question I think that as a comparison between the two, I only miss the coupe based upon looks ( and even in that area I think it's a close call). In every other respect the Alpina is better. Suspension, engine, braking etc, etc. It really is excellent. :D
 
Welcome to Alpina motoring, totally agree about the exhaust note, very addictive! Notice yours has had the de-gingering treatment to the front lights and a clear rear brake light fitted. Any other mods?
