I have done 3D models which sit on an Acrylic base before but which then are mounted on a thicker wooden base. This allows a light source to be used to illuminate the model from below. This model has been kept simple but its (another!) option.Street said:I’m fascinated by this mf Id love to have a go.
Have you considered edge lighting on it? I’m not sure Led strips would run thin enough but perhaps a precut grid below alligned to direct a light source?
Also did you exclude the wheels as a sculpting design choice or was it a build headache?
I’m interested in a dark Green or blue coupe
Thank you. As mentioned ill be waiting till the end of the month and then confirm with everyone all orders and options. Smokey grey would look good.mmm-five said:Put me down for a coupe version too please.
Don't know what colour, but likely to be some sort of 'smokey grey' if possible.
Might even put it on an chrome & wood mount though![]()

Yes, it's smoked/brown acrylic. Thought it would give me the closest colour to Ruby Black without going too red or too black.Street said:Its difficult to get an overall feel for it in the photos. Whats it like in the flesh mmm-five?
Is that a smoked acrylic?

I agree that it's almost impossible to capture on camera what the eye picks up...I've tried a few times, and failedpp1600 said:Having taken a few shots of the model sent to '1536Z4' we both agreed it starts of blue then changes into purple/black depending on the various lighting conditions... Hard to capture in photos but looking good...
