Coupe Art Sculpture

I’m fascinated by this mf Id love to have a go.
Have you considered edge lighting on it? I’m not sure Led strips would run thin enough but perhaps a precut grid below alligned to direct a light source?

Also did you exclude the wheels as a sculpting design choice or was it a build headache?

I’m interested in a dark Green or blue coupe

Put me down for a coupe version too please.

Don't know what colour, but likely to be some sort of 'smokey grey' if possible.

Might even put it on an chrome & wood mount though :P

I have done 3D models which sit on an Acrylic base before but which then are mounted on a thicker wooden base. This allows a light source to be used to illuminate the model from below. This model has been kept simple but its (another!) option.

The wheels are easy. This is purely a sculpture(as my others) based on the fantastic body lines of many a classic and sports car.

I will be sending of the orders list at the months end. And confirm with everyone the options beforehand.

..then theres this colour etc... etc... but the mention of a chrome plinth did bring up a possible brave/inspired choice... Mirrored Acrylic!.

The 'smokey tinted grey' shown on the previous page would look very good though.

Yes, it's smoked/brown acrylic. Thought it would give me the closest colour to Ruby Black without going too red or too black.

It's a great sculpture, and the 'slices' are well proportioned and spaced out perfectly. Quite tactile too, as I'm finding myself absent-mindedly running my hand over the curves

I've found it very difficult to get a good photo of it, as the light I can see through it with my eyes doesn't show up well/at all on camera.

Have also got to get rid of all those little bits of dust that the camera picks up.

I like it  The plaque underneath looks good too. If I manage to sort a home office one day I wouldn’t mind one to mount on the wall.

Having taken a few shots of the model sent to '1536Z4' we both agreed it starts of blue then changes into purple/black depending on the various lighting conditions... Hard to capture in photos but looking good...

I agree that it's almost impossible to capture on camera what the eye picks up...I've tried a few times, and failed :headbang:

...and yes, I know the end slice is on backwards :P

It`s looks great and as said changes colour with different lighting throughout the day . pp1600 photos are probably much better than I could provide but still don`t do it justice . You would have to do a time lapse of it as the light changes during the day to get a real appreciation . Really happy with it  :D :happyclap:
