Hi,
The whole point of this thread was to give some 'weight' to claims being rejected like yours.
I would suggest printing the whole thread (or saving it on a phone) and sending it to BMW UK, your local dealer and/or the ombudsman.
BMW cannot approve some claims and reject others depending on the day of the week!!

Thank you for your quick reply , only just joined the Z4 forum and have been reading through all the Z4 roof corrosion issues, I originally only thought it was my car which had the problem, I will wait for the reply from the OMBUDSMAN ,as they only contacted BMW UK on the 30 th October ,and according to the Ombudsman, who say they if not successful they will pass to the adjudicator who make a decision. Thank you again for the reply.

I assume no one has had any success with this past the 12 year mark? My car is 2012 and sadly I reckon the previous owner either hadn’t noticed the affected areas, or wasn’t aware the corrosion warranty existed.

Let me know! I'm 2011!-;)

If it makes you feel any better my 2016 has the tiniest bit on the trailing edge of the top panel drivers side. BMW investigation revealed the roof has been painted previously confirmed with a paint depth measurement tool whilst I observed. So the will not cover it under warranty even though it has extended warranty and full BMW history.

I just have to live with it or get it painted myself. To be honest I have to really look hard to see it but I know it’s there.

Doubt I’ll bother trying if no one else has been successful over the 12 year limit. Such a shame to miss out on it though. I’ve had a few cars covered by the corrosion warranty in the past and it’s so handy.

BMW UK try to wriggle out of corrosion claims before the 12 year limit (hence this thread), so I think it will a flat NO after the 12 years.
