I've just had to replaces a DSC sensor as I have been getting the usual two yellow warning lights coming on intermittently, and I've an MOT booked for tomorrow so wanted to make sure it was done prior to that as I didn't want to risk the lights coming on and an MOT failure because of that. No problem with getting a sensor and fitting it.
Then it was on to a brake bleed, wanted the car up on 4 axle stands but my jack doesn't lift high enough to lift from the rear point and get an axle stand under the front jacking point. So jacked from the front points and placed an axle stand under each front wishbone, then jacked front the rear centre where the bracing meets and got another two jacks under each rear jack point. Then bled brakes using a vacuum bleeder - all nice and straightforward
Put the wheels back on and went for a slow jaunt around the block to checkout the brakes, and noticed a horrible grinding sound - moving slowly ascertained it was coming from the offside front, got out, couldn't see any reason - continued slowly around the block and back onto the drive and Cindy heard me coming and said that the front offside wheel appeared to be 'wobbling'
Jacked up that side and wheel wont turn, the top of the wheel is making contact with the shock - removed wheel, small scoring mark on the shock and the very edge of the alloy rim has had the paint scraped off - looks like I've rubbed it all the way around with sandpaper.
The hub itself rotates freely so it appears that the jacks have caused the wishbone to bend/move and moved the bottom of the wheel out slightly - bugger
