C&A stores are very much alive in mainland Europe, whilst in Budapest (& egged on by my wife) I nearly bought some sexy C&A knickers for a female work colleague, in the end despite the fact that she'd almost certainly take the joke in the spirit in which it was intended I decided that the risk of it being deemed 'inappropriate' outweighed the potential funniness of the situation.
