Quick Update: Control Customs said to mind which wheel to buy and post to them. (I took it to mean it doesn't seem it's 'one-size fits all' kind of thing. TBD.) They said when it's available again (in the UK/EU) they'll contact me. Nice of them. I only want flat bottom, sporty grips and perforated leather. And since it's all redone, I don't need a new wheel. With that, if one of you have an OEM wheel compatible with the sDrive35is, I'd entertain an offer.

Threadjack, Phil40, I've spent the 80s and 90s in Geneva. Salut, mon grand.

Give these guys a look as they are based in the USA so might be better for you.

Stuart/All, Happy New Year, and quick update. Aza wrote back. While their office is in nearby State of Washington, they manufacture and post from eastern Europe. They didn't mention any shortage in E89 wheels. It's not cheap, though. We're exchanging emails. More updates soon.

Nice one marcoose
Can’t wait to see what you end up with,
Be aware, if you have heated SW
you might lose this function, I think the process kills the element, I didn’t have heated SW , might be worth asking about it if it’s a function you have. Good luck, look forward to seeing your choice

Dave, good point. Thanks. I have heating and absolutely do not want to lose that feature. I'll check with both Aza and Control Customs.

And the carbon is definitely colder , I’m gonna get a pair of driving gloves for roof down 😂
You’ve already got the gloves I’ve seen them, and a pipe and slippers to go with your old man driving

Got this from custom control on Tuesday, fitted it this morning, very happy with the crew there, very helpful and professional . I absolutely love this wheel, I know it won’t be everyone’s cup of tea, but each to their own , if anyone is thinking ab a new steering wheel , have a look on their site . Merry Christmas to all on the forum

Def going for this....looks popalopatastic....

Update from Aza. They don’t do heated wheel as their base model. They need to procure one especially for this job, if they can find it, they said. It’d cost US$200 extra. Which makes me wonder about experience, warranties, etc. All TBD. Their flat bottom doesn’t look too flat to me. But it could the pics. More to come.

There I was just idly looking at forum posts and I stumbled on this one :D Now I haven't bought a Custom Controls wheel....but following your lead Pbondar, I have had Royal Steering Wheels modifiy my M-sport wheel to Flat bottom, Perforated leather on sides, Smooth top/bottom, black stitching. Cost £240 (inc vat) plus £10 carriage each way. I did it on an exchange basis for convenience - paid a £150 deposit, they sent the new wheel and I've just returned my old one for deposit return. They were great to work with and made it in just under 2 weeks. Easy fitting and swopping buttons over - took 30 minutes, plus 30 mins battery disconnect time.... thank you Dave just followed your cruise control video  Beautifully made and a joy to use. I'm tall, so the flat bottom makes it so much easier getting in and out of the car and leg doesn't rub on bottom of wheel now when using clutch. Looks great and car smells pretty good too at the moment  Thanks Pbondar

Thx, Mojito. Believe it or not, I’m having a hard time finding a wheel shop IN America. It’s all technically made abroad. And even the ones ‘here’, nobody is doing heated wheel. The search continues. Yours is exactly how I’d like mine. But I don’t want to lose the heated feature. Thx again.
