Quite right, that was my reason for doing it. I've seen all grey on DSB and it looks fine, but on the black I just thought it looked a bit naff. None the less I'm very happy with the way it looks now.
 
Well I've ordered the gloss black grilles. Official BMW ones to ensure they're top notch and glossy. Got 15% off em at the local dealer.

Once they're on, I'll review what I want to do with the lower intakes. Then, I'll decide if I like the look at all :rofl:

There might be some nearly new gloss black grilles in the for sale section if not.

Bloody expensive month this. £252 on exhaust, £820 on Michelin PSS and £72 on grilles ... SO FAR!

sDrive = 'Standard Drive' (bmw speak for 2 wheel drive).

xDrive = 'All Wheel Drive' (4 wheel drive)

All twoddle really.
 
Perhaps ask an ex-Rover stylist to suggest something subtle :lol:

So I took to completing the grille swap today for the Official BMW Performanc Grilles. Not the best iPhone pics ever but they give you an idea. The first shot is stock, the second with the new grilles and the third+ I decided to go 180 on how everyone else does this and took the centre slat out of the lower intakes. The whole thing looking much meaner. I'll see how I get on with the look and keep twiddling things around until I'm happy with it. Need to let the look settle in with me before I decide whether I like them or not... At the moment, I'm thinking it looked better stock...

I like it Maniac :thumbsup: take some shots from a little further back as I think this close we are just looking at the grills, not the car as a whole!
Are you going to wrap the intake surrounds still?
 
That just looks too black on black and dare I say bland. Everyone has opinions but I prefer the stock look.

Try swapping out the surrounds from the new grills. Black slats with silver surrounds (as OEM E86 Z4M) and black surrounds with silver cross bars for the lower grills would look good.
 
The black grills with silver surrounds is OEM for 23/30i and don't like that look. I think I'll be putting OEM grilles back in and concentrate on the lower intakes instead as I don't think the lci repeaters work with black grilles and ill end up black all over if I black the lci's which I really don't want..time to faff again...

Looks like there will be some 1 day old OEM gloss black grilles in the for sale section later lol I think they work best on blue and white cars tbh...
 
I've put the OEM silver grilles back on, I don't like the black on black. Genuine OEM gloss black grilles anyone?
