***Completed*** Scorpion Exhausts - E85/86 - 2.5si and 3.0si Exhaust System Development!

First batch still hasn't landed yet.

I'm still mega happy with mine though.
Just been away from the forums for a bit (and probably will be for a bit more) whilst helping a colleague / friend in a house restoration project.

Is this buy still available at the price mentioned. Also if it is, is there a code when we contact them.
Thanks

Give me a call during office hours and I'll make sure you are looked after.

I called Scorpion yesterday and enquired about an Exhaust. Spoke to Shaun who told me they would be in stock from Wednesday (Tomorrow) and i could order and pick it up this week (only live 4 miles from them) the price quoted was £899. I did mention regarding this forum and he told me they will not let them go for less as they will not undercut the Dealers they supply to. Hence why i asked if the price quoted in the thread of around £809 was available.
Thanks

Scorpion don't sell to retail, thus will only ever give a price according to their MSRP.

All Scorpion Resellers sell @ 10% off the retail at the moment.
I can obviously beat this no problem at all.

They've put 8x Systems in to stock which should be finialized off production today.
Feel free to give me a shout if you want one and I'll do a forum specific deal by PM or by Phonecall.

Regards, AL.

Al is a great person to deal with and very helpful. Once he had the system in stock, shipping took 3 days from UK to USA.

It was very well packed and looks beautiful, once I find the time to get the exhaust installed, I will add some pics and a review.

Thanks Matt

Thank you for the kind words Matt! :)
Quite proud that one of my systems ended up all the way over in San Jose!

Finally had time to do the exhaust swap and boy was it easy. No welding required, exhaust comes with 6 clamps and uses all factory mounts. The new sound is somewhere between stock and a Suby WRX, not obnoxiously loud but has a nice idle tone.

BMW makes it super easy, remove the braces, remove the (4) exhaust flange nuts near the front axle, the (2) rubber supports at the muffler and the whole assembly slides back and off.

Install was just as easy, bolt on the (4) nuts and install the clamps as the diagram shows. Leave the clamps loose and install all of the braces, adjust piping and tighten the clamps. I tightened the clamps and then installed the bracing only to find it needed a slight adjustment.

For curiosity sake I weighted the old and new exhaust, new exhaust is approx 10LBS lighter.

Hey Matt!

Thank you for the update. Glad to see that yours went on really easy! Quite proud to say the least that one has got all the way to California! :D

They are a relatively simple install, but over here in the UK where we get a fair allowance of rain, the four nuts on the front lemon shaped flanges can rust to a point of being impossible to remove. Cutting and drilling these is about the hardest part for a UK install.

Glad you're happy with the system. I'm honestly gutted to not have my Z4 anymore as the exhaust was probably the most enjoyable thing on it.

Still happy to do a deal if anyone on here wants one of these systems sourcing!
Regards, Al.

I too am very happy with mine. Only a slight increase in noise and no constant drone but it does sound good

Just read through all this the system looks great. Need to free up some more noise from the straight 6 and this looks ideal.

Any chance they are still over forum friendly prices at all or have i missed the boat.

Drop me a message with your location and I'll see what I kind of deal I can sort out for you :)

Be very interested to know what he impact on power is from these. Exhausts are always a nice upgrade but at the expensive end of the mod market in my opinion and would be nice to know (apart from noise and aesthetic) what the potential gains are. That said it does look very well designed and the finish looks excellent.

It's a naturally aspirated motor so any power gains would be too small to notice.

People who claim 10bhp etc. From a cat back exhaust system on a naturally aspirated engine are the type to have a very active imagination.

Sorry for delay buddy tried to pm you but says it is outbox and not sent items so maybe hasn't gone through?
