Loads of people on here have had quad conversions done. Sure someone will be along shortly with a price for you. I was quoted by a place near Doncaster approx £400 including bumper mods. I decided to do mine myself there is a thread on here about it. Still in progress not finished yet.

Probably be in the £350-£450 ballpark, best to find a reputable local exhaust maker and ask! :thumbsup:

Yes bud just a sports back box...nothing fancy and certainly not on the level of a scorpion system, just wanted a bit of soundtrack release at a reasonable price :thumbsup:

It's not a bad price. We deal with Cybox for the Transporter Vans. They do some trick stuff for those :)
 
The car is now cleaned and ready for it's road trip down to Scorpion for it's 1-week Stay! :)

Having looked at the 3.0i Manifolds and found that they have the cats built in, there's a strong possibility it will fit a 3.0i as well, only it'll get rid of the secondary cats, which isn't too big an issue as the primaries have the lambda probes before/after, so the performance of the secondary cats is not monitored. Plus it'd be more of a performance improvement on the 3.0i.
 
Dropped the car off today :) This time it behaved perfectly all the way down and even managed 38.6mpg!

Providing they gat started on Monday (50:50 at this point) I should hopefully be picking the car up on good friday, but thus far I miss it and can't wait to have it back.
Hopefully Shaun will be sending me a couple of pictures over between now and then showing hows it's progressing, so as soon as I get those, I'll put them up on here for all to see!

What has been discussed is a Twin pipe system from the flanges off the bottom of the cats, all the way to the back, incorporating a centre silencer, to reduce drone and a rear silencer.
I've asked for the system not to be too loud, but a bit louder than it's current state. Tailpipes wise, We're going to be looking at either the 83mm or 76mm 'Daytona' Tailpipes. the 83's if there's enough room under the original valance to fit them in, the 76mm's if not :)

They made a start this morning after finishing the final bits on the new Audi TT-S (8J).
At this point there won't really be much to report back. They'll most likely have removed the original setup and started the prototype system. This will just be a basic 'layout' of the pipes, boxes and tail trims on the car tacked but not fully welded.

This will then be removed from the car in order to create the template or Jig for the future replications.
Once the jig is done, a system will be made up from it, test installed on the car then once fully installed road tested to make sure everything is good, not too much drone and that the system settles after a couple of heat cycles without knocking/moving too much. (Stainless steel will expand/contract upto 5x as much as mild steel and it's not unusual to see a cat-back system grow by 1-2 inches during its first road test!

Shaun from Scorpion was at my works today for a business meeting and said he would hopefully get some pictures over to me late on Tomorrow of how it's all getting on.

The overall development process can take around 4-5 days in total, so chances are I will be getting the car back after the Chocolate Egg Bank Holiday :)

Do they dyno the cars during the development process? It can't just be guesswork can it?

They do yes, they use a company 1.2 mile down the road from them with a DynoDynamics rolling road.
However, they very rarely quote the figures for obvious reasons. Especially when it comes to a naturally aspirated engine. Too many people living in a dream world thinking they are playing Gran Turismo.
If an exhaust company quoted a 5bhp gain and someone only got a 3bhp gain, then the retailer and manufacturer would have to put up with all kinds of abuse.

As with most performance systems for Naturally Aspirated Petrol vehicles, the pipe work diameter and run will be left as close to stock as possible, only without compression bends, so back pressure etc, will not be messed with.

Stock manifolds and Catalysts will be left as they are, so absolutely no requirements for mapping or CEL defeats.
