Completed: English-Welsh Meet at Cotswold BMW (Cheltenham)

I'm still planning/adjusting the route after finding out at work today that the M48 (old) Severn Bridge will be closed Eastbound (into England) on June 2nd, for expansion joint maintenance.

I was considering doing a quick loop across now that the Tolls have been removed, but thats now out, which is a shame as those coming from further afield may not have seen or crossed it before :x

I was climbing it earlier his week too.

You got enough fall arrests on :P how high were you Alan

Enough to make a big splat !.
About 400ft above the water there. Its 450ft at the top of the tower above mean tide level.
Although the tide was out then and its a 40ft tidal range so sometimes upto c500ft.

I was checking the alarm systems which have a direct link to Armed Police and Counter Terrorism Units

Hello sadly can’t now make this so please delete me from the attendance list, thank you..

Damn, I was hoping to leave via this bridge at mid point.. :( guess I will have to use the new seven crossing bridge. Not many sleeps to go now.. :) and looking forward to it. Thanks for the heads up.

Hi Alan, sorry for late notice but was made an offer on my E89 that was hard not to accept!! Means unfortunately I’m “Z4less” at moment...so not going to be able to do the run next weekend. Hope you enjoy great drive out across South Wales. Paul

If there is any space I would like to put my name down.

Sorry, I've been away all weekend so just catching up.
Yes, thats fine Chaps. Consider yourself in and I'll update the list.

I'll stick my Carly adapter in the glovebox if anyone wants some quick and dirty coding done. Subscription expires in August and won't be renewed, so good to get some last use out of it.

Hi All,

UPDATE:

The weather looks to be on our side ...at this stage !

We seem to have final numbers around the 50 mark with a few late cancellations matched by an equal number of welcome late arrivals to the party.

We have exclusive use of the showroom from 9-10am before they open to the public.
During this time, you are free to explore the showroom, view the cars and enjoy free refreshments. We also have exclusive use of the undercroft Service parking area where we will assemble and you will find the access ramp to the right hand side as you approach the showroom.

We will be looking to leave the showroom by 10:30/11am, and I anticipate the drive to be around 2 hours, (but I am still tweaking the route). We will finish at a pub not far from the start and then anyone wanting to book test drives, will have the opportunity to return to the showroom later in the afternoon if they wish.

As in previous years, we need to let the cars leave the showroom in batches, separated by 5 minute intervals, so that we dont' snarl up the traffic too much. Rather than put all Coupe's, Roadsters, E89's etc out in their own groups, I have taken on board comments from before that people would prefer mixed groups so that they get chance to have a good look at other models, that they may be aspiring to during the run or at the lunch stop, etc

Therefore, whilst I know its not perfect but I've tried to put an interesting model or two in each group amongst the majority of E85 roadsters.

Groups are now listed on the front page, post 2 so i don't have to keep amending both posts

Thanks
Alan (No5)[/b]

Very much looking forward to this. Looks set to be a great day!

Massive thanks and well done to Number5 for organising what’s set to be a memorable weekend :driving:

To all of those travelling up on the Saturday from the Essex/London area. Shall we start a separate thread to see if anyone wants to travel together?

What I do need though is someone familiar with the area and willing to lead a group as one of my Leaders now can't make it.

Anyone comfortable with main roads through surrounding the Forest of Dean ?
(PM me if you want more details before committing)
