Coming back to the fold...Too, Part 2

Very nice Sars!
I like how you've managed to make this look more special by changing the colour of the interior. Estoril blue is a nice colour but was becoming 'the new silver' and every car I saw it with had a black interior.

This is very nice! Glad you're happy with your new arrival.

I think I've been spoilt with the Harmon Kardon setup. Having had that in the previous 3 series, we've now jumped ship to Audi and Mercedes. B&O and Burmeister don't have a patch on the HK.

Lovely car, look forward to hearing more about it when you get some miles down. :)

Ive got to say that the engine is a great piece of kit! We have the same (I assume) drive train in my wifes 335xd
The performance is good and being a diesel is not a problem. The torque amazes me and there is no turbo lag. The gearbox, although a torque converter does its job without fault.

I would happily put the motor in a Zed.

Its fast enough to get into serious trouble and makes the Zed feel a little bit limp.

I bet the 335d is pretty damn quick, you don't have the extra weight of the convertible, can't wait to get a few thousand miles on the clock so that I can start to play :driving:

Just love the noise it makes too

Although our 335xd is "hers" I've done the bedding in and I have to say that it was a very difficult 1200 miles !

The main talent the car has in the UK is its overtaking ability - it's almost M3 performance .
A pal has an 330 xd as a company car and he happily demonstrated the launch control - that facility is almost frightening ! It's like being hurled down a roller coaster ramp.
Mrs K wont be happy when I use it.

Having read the manual, well the part about launch control, I am slightly worried too

Ooooh Sars I adore saddle leather :D

Leather, for saddles in a kinky way or just the colour :D

I've used the Audi Quattro system for many years but I haven't yet been able to give the X Drive system a trial.
Has anybody got any pros or cons?

It sounded ok when he demonstrated it but understanding what is going on inside worries me a bit - he wasn't bothered as its a company financed vehicle and goes at three years!
The 4wd system dealt with the very very sudden release of torque very well - there seemed to be no wheel spin (tested on a dry road)
I suppose its not something that will be done every day so I guess the engineering of the system should cope with the odd show off / Demo
