Comfort Access.

Hi all - I’m meant to have comfort access (looking at the vin readout) and the description of the car when I was buying it.

It’s a 2013 E89 - should the doors just open if I have my key on me - and then the car just start on a button press - or am I being too optimistic.

Either way I can’t get it working !

Can anyone help ?

With comfort access, if the car is locked , with the key in your pocket, as you approach the car AND then touch the door handle to open it it will unlock as you actually touch the door handle.

You will know if you have comfort access as the door area under the handle will have a ridged area with 3 straight lines each about 2mm apart

I think the garage messed up saying it was comfort access when they meant comfort package.

The VIN readout actually says neither - but I think may list the package items separately.

I could of sworn I read it on the list - saying comfort access - but I must have been mistaken :-(

Ok - thanks for the help.

Annoying that it was on the spec list but I’m otherwise very happy with the car so I’ll move on :-)

I think most garages just find a free VIN decoder and take it as gospel. One VIN decoder I used said it was a left hand drive auto. It's actually a right hand drive manual. :o
It doesn't help you in this case but it can work in your favour too. I saw an E89 20i for sale earlier today that was advertised with no extra equipment. I totted up what it actually had (that could be seen from the photos) and it came to over £3,000 of options.

Comfort pack was quite a lot of items so easy to confuse but from memory

PDC
Extended storage pack
Extended light pack
Wind deflector

Weren't heated seats in that pack too?

Possibly but not 100% certain - would make sense

Found it on another thread. Comfort pack has
PDC
wind deflector
extra storage
extended lighting (door handles, puddle lights etc)
Mirrors folding and auto dimming
Cruise control

Heated seats were extra to the above

So - I do have the led lights on the handles. I have the wind deflector, heated seats, storage behind the seats, cruise control.
So I’m pretty sure that I have the comfort package. Probably preferable to the comfort access for me.

Thanks for you help all :-)

Sounds like you have comfort pack to me and I agree more important that comfort access

there should be leds behind the seats as well

The one thing you think would be in the comfort pack is omitted, more important than the extended storage pack :headbang:

Comfort access for UK cars seems very rare. Mine has pretty much every thing except. Even my 11 year old Mazda has keyless entry and start.
