There isnt one!!! You said to me the 70s was an optimistic time that is my argument it wasn't there was a recession!!!
You are now confusing the human spirit (optimism) with economics (recession)! :headbang:

Yes, there was industrial strife at the time (i.e. the Three day week, and power cuts etc.) but the working man was fighting to improve his lot, which he achieved through optimism!

Regarding the original question of the car colour; I like it.
But then I'm an old git relatively speaking so bronzey muted colours probably appeal.
Think of it as the attitude before people worried about sunscreen...

I'm an old got too. I happen to like most of the colours, old and new but the matt finish just leaves me cold. Don't like it at all,, I think it looks unfinished and will be the Devil's job to keep clean. I saw a TT in matt black yesterday. It had more fingerprints on it than my iPad screen

Im not between 1973-1975 there was a recession due to the oil crisis. The GDP declined by 3.9%. This then came as a 3 day week, then a minors strike.

Tom,

I don't need to read Wikipedia on the 1970s: I lived through it! I could give you a full and detailed account of every year of the 1970s but I don't remember the "minors strike", can you tell us more about it?

Simple fact is - you either like the damn colour or you don't.

Looks like a shade of brown to me. Anyway I thought this thread was about peoples opinions. Thats mine.

Wind your neck in .

By the way Carol, I don't think my comment warranted such a rude response. And yes if that's touchy then I am.

Ruby, telling someone to 'wind your neck in' is hardly rude. Especially when it's been posted in reply to a needlessly touchy response in the thread.

(It's Sepang not Seprang everyone. Sorry, bit of spelling ocd)

Suit yourself I have backed up my points. It wasnt even about economics you said the 70s were optimistic. They certainly weren't which is where my argument came from.

You have completely removed the point about the colour.. which is what this was about. I have studied art movement and colour phycology in detail as it was a major part of my degree. If you dont understand the movements im taking about have a look. It can be confusing.

Wow....!!! Thread derailed to the max. Love this place

I'll quote SWMBO, from when we saw a Sepang ///M in Edinburgh the other day....."I like the Bronze car...." Maybe it's 'cos the Olympics are on :?

Sorry, my spelling isn't great I also have dyslexia so I struggle sometimes.

Not laughing at your spelling luv, just found it funny in the midst of this hardcore thread. I have a weird sense of humour but I DO have one :D (As you know because you take the piss out of my car all the time!)

Just copy and paste from Wikipedia, I think it's mostly spellchecked!

Whatever the economic climate, the 70's wasn't all brown and 'earthy' and downbeat

One of my favorite artists was at the height of his career in the form of Ziggy stardust, he for sure wasn't sticking to bland colors

Also don't forget that glam rock came our of the UK in the mid 70's (thankfully fading away shortly afterwards)

Tom, I've just been so amused how you've been telling me about all the years through which I've lived using Wikipedia.
