Hi guys, just looked at a set for £75 on eBay includes side indicators, rear lights and brake light

has anybody on here fitted them and what do tr rear lights with the bulbs look like? Any pics??

Side and centre rear brake are common swaps and depends on the colour of your Zed if they suit.

Which rear lights. If you mean completely clear then the general concensus is 'step away' and I think your car is a facelift so never seen any aftermarket that fit???

No mate new car to come is 53 plate so they will fit, yes they are completely clear, are they that bad then? I can't find just the back brake light to buy on it's own? It's a grey car too so will suit me thinks

I've been looking at these as well. The guy has good feedback for the units so I'll probably give them a go. Will post some pics after they are fitted. Mike

A few members have bought these, but most have then used a red tint spray to create the Clear Quad Spot look.

I'm guessing these are the lights in question

Clear Quad Spots

It's the best pic of them I have, but if you do a search you will turn loads of others.

I made quad white spots by creating my own grafted lens onto Gernan units. Others have done variety of different tint jobs onto various units. Do a few searches.

IMHO the quad spot with clear rear and clear sides is the way to go on a prefacelift.

I agree, but I also feel it has less impact unless you have the clear front indicators too (which I don't :( )

i ordered a set off ebay last week. Cant wait for them to arrive :D im planning on tinting mine to create the 4 white spot look.

is a bit of masking tape and a can of spray tint all that is required for this job?
I think the clear fronts look good too, but i don't think its worth the time n cost to do it.

Just did mine with help from some forum members. It's really simple, you just need:

Tinting spray - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=260601906996
Laquer - I used Halfords stuff
Clear vinyl - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=130345091542
Masking Tape - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=360262120814

And Easy027's helpful tips. (Peddy helped me too but no point repeating same thing twice)

I bought some self adhesive clear vinyl and stuck a square shape over the entire circle. i then carefully with a scalpel, cut round to give me a perfect circle (although its not perfectly round) the shape i needed. i also masked off the already red sections.

Dont let the red spray dry, otherwise it goes matt finish. i left the first coat for a few mins then just sprayed another on top.

i also left the french fry bit non masked so i could spray it, as i have left my french fries off as i never really liked them. looks far cleaner & simpler without them i think.

You need to let the spray dry totally. i think i left mine most of the day then sprayed the laquer on top - probably about 3 coats in total.

Remember, if it goes wrong you can always remove the spray and start again. i would defo take time masking everything off to make sure that the end result is perfect. i would also recommend the clear vinyl for the indicator shape rather than masking tape, as it gives a real crisp edge, i got mine from a place called 'hobby craft'. the final result shoudl give a perfect OEM look. oh, and remember to spray them equally as one of mine first time round looked a little lighter than the other.

Good luck!

Really nice straightforward project with great outcome:

So you painted the clear set that cam from eBay??? Anyone around tamworth way to help for some petty cash?

Cheers Hotride - thought it would be a helpful comparison.

Yes Leon all info you need should be in previous post, I just followed Easty and Peddy's advice and they came out great. You're a bit far away from me but if you need any help post here and I'll reply. Likely others will have the same questions.

Thanks mate, just wondering if there are any step by step guides? With pics etc, I don't think I would be that good with paint..

How many layers of tint did you spray? im ordering a set later online along with the paints etc to do the conversion =0)
What bulb are you using for the rear fog?

I used nearly a whole can of tint spray to do both lights. It is a small can though (called etech from ebay).

Just build up the layers until the colour looks right then lacquer them the next day.
