Clear light and Angel Eye Conversion - The Project and Story

Another option if you have the builtin satnav and an intravee you can enable the angel lights as DLR's via the intravee interface (as above I have my LED angels connected to the sidelight wiring)

I have sourced all the parts so going to do this week, once finished I will then sell my existing set of lights (LEDs without diffusers)

Is that possible for both facelift and preface lift models?
I've got an intravee on its way to me now so that's possible to do then straight of the sidelight wiring with the intravee? If so... Fantastic!!

Got both lights finished today, just waiting for sealant to dry on the second lens.

I opened out the main beam hole so that the diffuser and led ring pass through it. The dipped beam ring and diffuser I bonded to the light housing itself so it sits behind the chrome ring

Here they are attached to a 9v battery

Just need to take the plunge and remove the bumper

Ive got an HID kit to fit but will probably get it all working on the halogens first before I introduce too many variables...Cant wait..just need the facelift bumper now..anyone selling?

Looks fantastic!!
So you set the LEDs behind the housing?

Honestly, the bumper is a doddle to get off! If you've just attacked this getting the bumper off will be a walk in the park! Done it a few times. Plenty of how tos on here too.

Looking good - I was going to start my conversion today but the thought of that dremel dust has put me off for now

Yes..for the dipped beam I bonded the ring and diffuser direct to the chrome lamp housing...fits great (the black inner sits far enough in front to allow this). Then main beam I bonded to the black inner (once it was opened up a bit with a file). I left the chrome bezel ring on the black inner just to keep it looking a little OEM even though it shrouds the diffuser a bit

Well its all thanks to the parts you supplied Rich! My only concern now is that because I had to change the projector as I had one Xenon and one halogen I'm a bit worried it might be out of adjustment on the four screw posts. CJjeeper mentioned this when I told him what I had done :(

Did you take any pics? Interested in seeing how it fits....

The outer (dipped beam) ring I bonded direct to the chrome housing using a 2-part adhesive

and then doubled up with aluminium tape (diffuser not shown)

The inner (main beam) ring apperture I opened up with a file till the diffuser and led ring passed through

I then bonded and aluminium tapped this on to the black inner (diffuser not shown)

When reassembled it looks like this with the outer led sitting behind the black inner

As aquazi says, that's real tidy!

I think it would play on my eyes having them at different depths though!

Good work!

Yeah I'd of liked the main beam ring behind the black inner but there isn't enough room. But tbh it doesn't look too bad!
Another idea I am toying with is to perhaps do away with the led rings and try to illuminate just the diffuser with a high powered Cree led. Will have to get some more diffusers and have a tinker :D

For me, after seeing the above, I 100% need both rings to sit on the outer face. With that in mind, anyone care to offer some advice on what size rings I need for non xenon units?
