That's very interesting Sam. I'll have to give them a shout when they return to work on the 4th of jan

Nice one

They are a tad expensive, but if I was to fit ae in another car now I wouldn't put anything else in. They really are fit and forget

:thumbsup

well ive had a good flick through this thread & its making me want to open up my lights!

I see people are cutting theirs open & rebonding them back together without the need for a donar set of headlights. Can anyone whos done this please post a close up pic of how the joint looks & how it looks once on the car from under the bonnet.

I want to attempt this, but im too much of a perfectionist & i really dont want to spoil my lights

When I get my angel eye rings in a week or so ill be re opening mine so ill take some close up pics

The joints not visible when headlights are fitted, so don't worry about them,

another excuse for the picture

no, this is before the cut was made - just showing you where the blade should go

PS I'e done 3 clear/angel light conversions - one using a donar - either way its breeze once you get the first one open

You can see the 'rough' finish but you don't see any of it as it hide by the body work - well apart from 2" when you open the hood

ah cheers ranski! Yea i see what you mean now :D so in theory if you were neat enough with the sealant on that edge it could look factory

Thats given me the inspiration to have a go now, cheers for the help guys

Ill get a few photos sorted when i start it

So after 2 days of reading all the posts regarding this must have upgrade i think i'm going to go for it.
I feel comfortable cutting the headlights open and fittig the a/e's,
but am concerned about not being able to find clear hockey sticks(cant believe i didn't notice the shape of them and often wondered what people where refering to untill after seeing this post, lol  ),as finding second hand lights are hard to come by especially with clear ones and they go for a fortune.I have even contemplated selling mine and buying some of the aftermarket ones on ebay but feel that would be cheating(plus another 150 quid).
I noticed a few members have wrapped/spray tinted?my exsisting headlights are black inners this being on a silver car do you guys/girls think i'll get away with spray tinting the sticks?
i'm hoping so because i think it'll be a shame to open them only to fit the a/e's.
can any of you let me know what you think especially if you've done your own and what stuff did you use.
thanks in advance bazza.

I tinted and sold a spare set sometime ago, looked fine but just not the same as clear headlights

I would hold out for the clear lens...

I paid a spray shop to do my inserts and hockey sticks.

i think they look ok on dark coloured cars just not sure on silver.
may get away with it whats worst that can happen cant lookworse than orange

I think tinted hockey sticks work best on dark inner headlights, otherwise it can stand out a little.
