Faaaak I like this way better than the black painted orange boomerangs. which I just did.

How many times must I cut head lights open?

Good to see people still finding the thread and getting use out of it.

In the case of my conversion still looking the business 6 1/2 years after I did it

I'm looking at doing this. A few questions though:
Do I need to order 4x 80mm angel eyes from the American website posted by ranski?
Do both eyes plug in to where the sidelights go in or am I going to have to join wires?
Does it matter if I have xenons?
Thanks

Can't answer what size you need to use the 'ranski' AE's. Best PM him. I used a different technology of CCFL before the LED type was on the market.
You have to do some wiring unless the kit contains a plug that imitates a bulb.
Xenons don't make any difference - mine are.

I have bought 4 LED eyes with cases. Do I need anything else like an inverter?
How do I join the two eyes together to go into the one sidelight socket?

The end of the wire has a connector like this, which I am guessing will plug into the sidelight holder

At the middle there is this small connector

Doesn't really matter where you do the soldering. Just make sure you have enough wire between them to fit everything in the headlight

Need some advice, I have opened my lights and am in the process of wiring my led angel eyes.
My problem however is that I can't get the LEDs to fully turn off. When the sidelights are on they are at full brightness but when lights are off and key is out of ignition they stay on a dim glow which would drain my battery I imagine. What can I do to stop this?

Very hard to be sure but I'd be guessing that you have wired them in such a way as when they are off they are still recieving a feed which is leaking to earth or in series with a bulb, hence lower light level. You might have found a 5v parking light supply, but I don't have the wiring diagrams to hand to see.

I'd bench test or run known good live and earths 1 at a time to isolate the problem.
