Classic car show NEC

Say what you like about any other of the variant Z4s on display, but that PY Coupe is just sublime.

Yes, PY E86 and an Alpina is a good looking combination.

Just curious but ehose stand were they on - BMW Car Club maybe?

God I'd love a CSL. One of my all time favs.
That 280 Brooklands Crapi seems cheap. They were selling for 20k plus recently. :o

Not sure what that price reflects pondrew, had a good chat with the owner and he has agreed insurance valuation of 40K, and offers of 35k on regular basis.

I seem to remember 2.8is were about £8K in 1983 and later Specials listed around £9K, so maybe that was the list price when Brooklands were new in 1987? I'm pretty sure there was a premium compared to the Special.

So it's not for sale, just maybe the original selling price?
If it's £12k I'll have it.

I know I'm gonna be unpopular, but I just don't like the Z8. Never have
I'd have a Z1 any day over an 8 :)

I had an uncle who had a red Fuego. I loved it in the early '80s. Like so many Renaults, great styling, terrible engineering

I have an album of pictures I took at the 1989 Earl's Court Motorshow. I should scan them and post. Star of the show? Lotus Carlton! I kid you not.

I used to go to Earls Court regularly in the 60s/70s ans 80s and loved it.

Refused to ever go to the NEC - it was in the middle of nowhere!

Anyway just for you here is a mint LC I saw at a Pistonheads meet in 2015 - the owner still has it apparently.

I went to Earls Court in 1989, star of the show for me was the F40 followed by the yellow Z1 and tucked away on a crap stand was a 959

That 007 Lotus Esprit belongs to a friend of mine !
He told me how he went to a museum in the U.S. to look at the original film car and measure up the ski holders.

That’s awesome. He had some information with the car stating that very fact. Some boy like, it looked mint.
