Steph and I were searching out some new roads for future NE hoons on Saturday but we took a circuit of Derwent Resrvoir on the way. The north road is wide and sweeping with goodish sight lines - the southern road has a nice tight section but the road surface is dreadful in places. There's a lot of work to be done sorting out the state of some of our roads - I'd say some are lethal - particularly for a motorcycle! Northumberland have pledged to repair all pot holes by the end of the summer - a massive job I would have thought!

Start of the south road section from Edmunbyers (see the condition of the road surface here. . . .).

Edmunbyers - a lovely spot to stop and have a break in the café set up in the old school house at the centre of the photo in the background.
