Circuit of Derwent Reservoir

Steph and I were searching out some new roads for future NE hoons on Saturday but we took a circuit of Derwent Resrvoir on the way. The north road is wide and sweeping with goodish sight lines - the southern road has a nice tight section but the road surface is dreadful in places. There's a lot of work to be done sorting out the state of some of our roads - I'd say some are lethal - particularly for a motorcycle! Northumberland have pledged to repair all pot holes by the end of the summer - a massive job I would have thought!

Start of the south road section from Edmunbyers (see the condition of the road surface here. . . .).

Edmunbyers - a lovely spot to stop and have a break in the café set up in the old school house at the centre of the photo in the background.

:driving:

Me and Hannah often drive round there paul my friend has a pub on the a68 manor house inn looks over the reservoir nice spot, nice scenic roads but like you say are dreadful in places.

Some nice roads around the area, been a few years since I travelled them though. It's a shame that some are in a bad state of repair
