Ok so going ahead with the bucket seats
Can anyone recommend a good cloth bucket seat suitable for the zed?
Seen a few on ebay

youre right they do a bit
I think the zed has 18 inch base, with 20 inch width across shoulder area

I was thinking... :roll:
I like the electric movement and that they're are heated just don't like leather slipperiness
so looking on ebay you can get a roll of alcantra fabric which I think looks nice and isn't too expensive
idea is to take out old seats and do the project indoors so still temp disconnect all the cables
remove the leather cover taking care not to damage heat mat and either reupholster them all in the alacntra material or some how glue!? it to the existing leather
anyone on the forum an upholsterist?

Only thing I would say is the size of the seat is crucial as many (most?) bucket seats are to wide for the very narrow Z4 cockpit.

Well trying to find heated is difficult and I find the high price of them a bit insulting £700 plus

I agree it's complete madness to spend a grand on the seats and then another grand getting them re-trimmed, you'll end up having seats worth more than the car :lol: You either need to try and find a nice set in the first place (which is what I did) or buy some knackered ones (like the ones I sold) and put in some elbow grease.
I'm surprised you haven't found any red ones yet, when I was looking for my coupe at least half the cars on Autotrader had red seats!

I've come up with a plan
I've just brought a set of seats from Honda S2000. The dimensions are pretty much the same as the Z4 seats. I'm planning on ripping my s£&t standard seats out and using the electric frame and the heat pads. Then going to mount the new seats on the frames and fit the heater pads. It's a bit of an ambitious project but I picked the seats up pretty cheap. Will require me copping up my old seats, but from what I've seen there only worth £200 on eBay and no one seems to want them anyway.!!!
P.s I would of loved a set of M seats but can't justify the cost and a few people seem to have fitted them and not been completely impressed.
No doubt I'll have two sets of seats completely wrecked by next week lol

I have a Sapir set of seats I have project plans for. So if it dose all go tits up Plymouth just ask I might be able to help temporally
What are you thinking Luke? I am making sport seat out of standard ones or similar again I have a Sapir set if Plymouth doesn't need them.
