CDV Removal @ my place on Sat 9/20

Ouch, good thing he did not see our cars making the trip East! Bugs like you have never seen and really did not want to see smashed on a hood, worse yet were the juicy ones on the windshield!

JoAnna was behind the camera on this event. I have been asked to host and provide some insite to this event.

Three chiefs and 1 indian.

Left to right Bob, Luca, Lance, Mike

Remember the cardinal rules of supervision: Decide, Delegate, Disappear.
A casual get together that was a lot of fun. Good food, friends, and of course the cars. Very nice photos!

i trust that t-shirt was filthy before you started as it is a "clean" job? :D

Good thing about the 2.5 is that the CDV is easy to access. On the 3.0, it was more of a pain due to insulation layers at the gear box end as well as the 6th gear.

That was Luca's clean outfit before changing into his work clothes! :poke:

Very much needed. It is a lot better, and the rough 1 to 2 gear shifting is totally gone (as long as you're good in rev matching). Wife is enjoying the car much more.
Lance and Mike tried and did say it shift better then their car (Z4 Coupe and Z3 Coupe 3.0 respectively, both with CDV). Lance is trying to mod my old valve himself without drilling it (not recommended; I think it's because there isn't a standard drill bit of the exact size). Mike was excited to have the mod done to his coupe as well.

I don't wanna say the modified valve from Zeckhusen (which is what I've used) is a must, but the rubber line would probably be a little too tight if you just remove the CDV and connect the rubber line directly to the metal line.

PS: I'm emotionally attached to that T-Shirt; every stain is there for a reason and it makes me feel like I know what I'm doing...

PS2: I think I'm gonna have a haircut tonight after work...

I would clean the car you are taking up north this weekend instead. You are representing the SoCalZ's remember.

They have the same parking rules. :poke:

Blame it on Mary. If her car is dirty, then I would suspect that it was your "favorite" shirt that made it so....we do have photographic proof of the offending shirt while being worn on your person in close proximitry to her car. And in addition, we all know that Mary is too much a lady to get her car dirty. :fuelfire:

Why am I not surprised it's gonna be my fault regardless... However the Z4 being the garage queen that she is, she should be clean... But just to be safe I'll dust it off tonight and give it a coat of wax...
