CDV Mod clarification...

Am i right in saying that the CDV mod is quite simply remove it from it's in line position..???, the reason i ask is i have also seen a CDV mod somewhere that involves drilling something ??

Depends on the definition. The CDV mod I did was removing the existing one and replace with one where the insert had been removed, so therefore had a bigger opening.

A different definition would be that some have removed the CDV altogether, so therefore joining the two pipes together without the CDV (modified or not) in between.

Never any drilling involved though.

Drilling the existing CDV is a third option. Connecting the two lines (before and after the CDV) might put stress on them and have them break; additionally if your car is still under warranty they can blame the absence of the CDV to deny the repair. Drilling would be problematic because the holes size is not standard (the bit would either be too small or too big) and you might leave residues behind.
I bought the one from Zeckhausen

DO NOT drill out the restriction! Besides being the hard way to do it, you run the chance of getting metal shavings and/or contaminants in the clutch hydrallic system. Once upon a time on one of the forums, someone posted a nice DIY on how to disassemble and remove the restrictor collar from a cdv unit. Be careful on reassembly not to damage the seat surfaces.

Additional note: Luca, our super secret squirrel project has been successfully complete and is awaiting return to youl.

No link, just a feeble memory and a little trial and error.

You can get them off that american site. I just ordered one!

How much do you think an independent garage would charge to fit this for me?

Thanx!
